re: Leigh had actually already signed with Clemson back in mid-December

So when he tweeted pic of himself in LSU gear last week, was he already signed with Clemson?
If you're going to get upset and call someone a piece of shite for playing around and building suspense on Twitter, then maybe you shouldn't follow recruiting.

All these kids are so full of shite these days
Sounds miserable having to try to woo immature 15-18 year old kids that are just looking out for the best self interests.

frick that. There's a difference between building suspense and signing silently and continuing to be recruited without informing the schools.

Is there not some ncaa rule that players can’t talk to other schools once they have signed their LOI?

Laura Rigney (Leigh)
This is her explanation about the silent commit.
Very proud of my baby! For those that are being negative:
1. Please remember this is a 17 year old child.
2. When you sign a contract to be on a show to commit- you sign a confidentiality contract. You are legally not allowed to tell. Period. Thanks for the support!

This will be fixed within a few years. No kid is going to agree to be silent and go on the show if they get large amounts of hate on social media and people start taking shots at their character.

Also, kind of kills the fire Cregg now push. He would have been fired with everyone else if O was just keeping him around to try and reel Leigh back in.
I doubt O fires any position coach involved in recruiting until after signing day.

I personally wouldn’t do that if my kid was a recruit but this is 2021 America. frick everyone imma get mine I guess.

I had no clue he had signed. Neither did our staff. Or OU staff for that matter. All we’re still actively recruiting him
Posted on 1/3/21 at 11:39 am to Howyouluhdat
Problem is, we had no idea he had already signed

Yeah you really can’t be blamed for misinformation. Every school involved was blindsided, which I find to be a bit immature (mom included) but it is what it is.

Transferral of blame
America’s pastime

Nothing more than slimy tactics by Clemson and shame on the family for going along with it.
Posted on 1/3/21 at 11:54 am to Makavellimw
So she's saying he signed a contract to appear on the show, along with a confidentiality agreement? No way. Momma signed a contract and got paid, then funneled part of the money to her kid.

So she's claiming a ND was signed with NBC to not disclose Leigh signed with the Taters.
BUT...
A) "signing" with Clemson is a LOI, which is a contract, which NBC is not a party to. Can you sign a ND agreement about something which you are not a relevant party?
B) that LOI is accompanied by a financial aid (scholarship) agreement, which Clemson is a public university and this is use of public funds. Again, NBC is not a party to this agreement either.
C) Agreeing to this ND is an agreement to put other entities (LSU, OU) in violation of NCAA and NLI rules. So you are agreeing to entrap, with a 3rd party (NBC), other entities to violate a private governing body's rules (NCAA)
D) to sign the LOI (and FA agreement) and submit it you have to submit it to the school (a party to the agreement) and they have to submit to the conference (or it is void). The conference is also not a party to either the LOI or the ND agreement with NBC. But they necessarily are receiving disclosure, which presumably violates NBC's ND agreement.
E) IF asked, is the conference required to disclose that they have received and filed a LOI, which would also render NBC's ND agreement moot?
ETA: In a way I would love to see Clemson report LSU and OU for improper contact of a signed player, which is something the NCAA is trying to crack down on.
That would likely bring both the Big XII and SEC into legal conflict with the ACC (since LOI's are the responsibility of the conference). In the end, it's NBC's insertion into the process that is the cause of this. So the next step is you have the B12, SEC, and ACC all going after NBC.

Thank you. "We had to entrap universities into committing recruiting violations because we signed a contract" is bullshite.

To be fair, I’ve been saying a while I didn’t think we got Leigh. Just knew he was still talking to us so there was an outside chance. Little did I know he was already signed sealed and delivered elsewhere
