Didn't you say the same about Darren Evans?

Yeah I don't get why they aren't pressing Gilbert.

This is a strange year

I don’t know how anyone can call him undersized and want Jordan Gilbert. He’s a better verified athlete and has 20 lbs on Gilbert. Makes no sense

Offering a kid like this at a position we're currently struggling with is a red flag. We need Top 100 athletes to shore up the secondary, not kids that are barely ranked in the top 1,000.

You don't build elite secondaries and programs by making desperation offers to kids like this.

Just a few weeks ago we were all complaining about DB recruiting, but now I'm guessing this kid is a diamond in the rough and a future Draft pick.

Nothing to do with size. Has to do with Gilbert being a better S. Langlois is a better athlete but not S imo. It may be some things the staff likes about Langlois more or things about Gilbert they don't like that we aren't privy to. It's no secret they have liked Langlois quite a bit.

As for the top 100 athletes we should be recruiting, name them. They aren't out there that we realistically have a shot to land. The relationships just aren't there. We aren't the only school by far facing a limited board because of unknowns. Sr film is gonna be the most important it's been in years this cycle. And who's to say Langlois isn't just underrated? This hasn't been a typical evaluation year with no camps at all. I have no issue with the Langlois offer and don't see it as a panic offer. See it as a realistic offer.

understand that he plays at a tiny school and for the last 10 months, there has been basically zero chances to evaluate players like most normal years.

schools dont recruit from recruiting rankings.

Recruiting rankings are derived from who schools recruit.

That’s how we screwed up our WRs by offering Jetts.

This is def. not a good sign for the recruiting affairs this cycle, and the longer this plays out, the worse it's gonna get, to be honest I do not see us landing Sage, Masson, Foreman, are BTJ.. downvote away, but whoever thinks otherwise, is just fooling themselves

What does he need to even think about ?

But then again, there have been a number of recruits on the D side very turned off by the current state of affairs

But we've been told that this isn't as big a factor

If so, how is UGA recruiting so well?

Bro you’re such a damn moron.

Langlois looks like a player to me. He’s a fluid athlete with ball skills.

Looks waaaay better than Darren Evans.

I would not call Langlois undersized. He looks bigger and more well put together than pretty much everyone he’s playing against in his junior highlights.

He’s playing wingback on offense, buries dudes as a lead blocker, great vision and short area quickness when he gets the ball, doesn’t get caught from behind.

Beast on special teams. Blocks kicks. First man down on kickoff coverage trucking blockers on his way to the returner.

When he’s on defense he attacks blockers and ball carriers violently. Sets the edge in the run game. Runs with receivers down field. Looks like easily the strongest dude out there. He’s up in the box smashing people.

All of this. I was skeptical before I watched his junior highlights, but this kid looks really impressive.

I said in the original thread the kid can def hit and is great going forward.
After watching his highlights on hudl, he does have a nice backpedal and has some nice moves
I wonder if they like him as a true free safety or more strong/box
