Don't know why you were down voted for speaking the truth. He's not an off the ball LB and trying to fit him there would be a mistake. He's an edge rusher. No reason he cant add the bulk to be a situational pass rusher at least. Seems the staff has come around on the true LB stance but they managed to scheme our best rusher away from rushing the passer this season so who knows.

Kid is a football player, but I have no idea what the new DC is going to run or how he would fit in.

I don't know why some LSU fans don't understand why Perkins was not used exactly the same way as last season...not rocket science to understand why. First, with a bunch of green cover guys who have talent but no college experience, he was needed to help out there. Second, offensive coordinators aren't stupid. After last season, they were going to make sure that they had enough blockers and knew where Perkins was on every play. As I've said, Perkins has two weaknesses which sort of go together. He can't bull rush over a blocker and by the same token is not the strongest tackler...needs to become more physical of a player.

As I've said, I consider Cobbins a 5* college prospect (can't rate him as pro prospect because unlike the recruiting service I don't pretend to know more than NFL GMs). However, as with ALL highlights we don't know the HS competition on the video. But speed is speed, strength is strength, desire is desire, etc. I will say he seem to run through blockers better than say Harold Perkins JR does. I do disagree some with your comment about just do what you want to do and not worry about how the opponent adjusts to it (i.e. just rush Perkins for example even if he is going to be chip blocked, etc).

Another reason Perkins would have trouble rushing the passer this season was that other than Swinson, I saw no help doing that. I believe we all agree that Smith was a shadow of his TR FR self due to the 2022 ACL. Wingo obviously was struggling with his upper body injury...bad enough that he needed surgery. So there was no push up the middle unless Jefferson was in there...and Kelly/House started using him more. S Jones has been a huge disappointment to me, so that basically left Swinson as the main pass rusher. Without other players to worry about, the opponents could have made sure the main threat Perkins wasn't going to beat them. Even Perkins needs another threat out there.
