It’s not that far fetched to say they could have similar potentials.

Not at all. Not disagreeing there. But at this moment in time Lacy is possibly the best back in the nation while Berry is nowhere even close. Lacy isnt just a "system running back".. thats retarded. Him and Jeremiah Love are 1A 1B.

With JT Lindsey's charges being dropped, and able to return to LSU, he was a highly ranked recruit. I know hes been out of ball for an entire season, but hed definitely provide depth to go along with Berry and the back from Utah

Some of you people have junior high minds. Schools don't recruit players to " stick" it to other schools. The belief that Chambliss and Lacy were going to follow Kiffin to LSU was totally a creation of the dreams of many fans. Neither has entered the portal. OM has acted proactively to assure this does not happen, the same way LSU has also done this to assure its top players not enter the portal. Neither player rejected LSU any more than they rejected other schools. Everything in college football does not run through some LSU filter except in your own simple minds.

Then we just gonna hold into the 40 million and not spend it?
If we're signing thirty players, we need to stick to the planned budget. Thirty does not go into forty very many times.

Do you use a budget?

Sometimes it's a bitch.

Of course, it's a bigger bitch when you don't stick to the budget.

So can you explain the leaked phone conversation if this was all made up?

I for one would welcome him back. Glad his issues got worked out but I’m hoping it isn’t too late and he wants to go far away. I still think he would be a really good player for us in the backfield.

Is it $40 Mil for the portal or the entire team? I think it’s $40 Mil for the entire team, and LSU just re-signed about 20 current players. Whit, Pickett, Woodland, Cooley, Spears, Berry, and Trey’Dez weren’t cheap.

Yet he barely played at Mizzou and didn’t stand out when he did. And they spent that entire season looking for a back to emerge after Cody Schrader left.

As good as he is. Poor coaching and system play a role in how effective a back can be. We saw the same thing here this year.

I honestly don't know the amount. I doubt very many people do. More than likely, the available funds are somewhat fluid depending on the need, the player, and the price. But you're correct, the amount I heard was for the entire team, not just the portal. My error.

I love Berry, but I can’t help but think this take is biased. You think Berry is better than the top SEC runningback? Berry is explosive, but has a real fumbling problem that HAS to be corrected and he’s not an every down 20+ carry every game running back. I think he will be great in Lane’s offense, but to say you think Berry is better than Kewan after this season I just can’t agree with. Ones proven the other has huge upside, but isn’t proven.

Really wish we could’ve kept Durham after hearing this news. Runningback’s take so many bumps you have to have depth at this position.

Still strengthens your point about spreading the money around. It doesn’t go very far when you’re about to pay $5Mil for a QB.

Why when players dont choose LSU they gonna be a failure but when we sign low rated players we say they were under used or look he runs a 4.4 forty.

Everyone here gets a bit emotional and blows off steam when something shitty happens. It comes with the territory.

And I'd bet my bottom dollar Frank and Austin Thomas shite talked Lane and LSU to Lacy. Funny how that timing worked out with him re-signing.

The joke is gonna be on Kewan when he fumbles and Frank has him riding the pine for some back averaging 1 ypc. Austin Thomas is overrated. See last two years and our soft program.

He’s a proven great recruiter and winner, the timing of everything this season didn’t help LSU.

The goal is to be in the conversation every year, not just next year.
