So basically anyone that signs with Oregon has a built in Nike contract?
The NIL is going to kill NCAA sports.

Banks Jr says "Some have asked if the decision came down to the Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) ruling, especially with Oregon being Nike’s main schools. Banks says that was not the case, though.
“I understand the NIL pretty well from visiting all these schools,” he said. “But that wasn’t really a big part of my decision. They talked about it the same as the others, about me having people up there that would help me and things like that. But that’s the same thing everybody said.”

Collegiate sports as we know them were on their way out well before NIL

Oregon just also lost JTT to Ohio State. I think people are overestimating the NIL stuff with them. Cristobal is a great OL coach and elite recruiter. It's not crazy at all that they got Banks, they've done this for a few big Texas recruits in recent years.

That’s Kelvin’s sponsor on his “visit “ right?

Not sure this is going to fly... Nike favors some programs over others they will begin to lose equipment contracts.

Does anybody ever tell these young men that it rains up there at least 200 days a year and can be quite dreary. I always hated playing in the rain

To test the hypothesis of the NIL being a big factor in recruiting watch Stanford.
They get just as much from Nike as Oregon (Knight grad from their school of business) and the weather is much nicer than Eugene.
If both Stanford and Oregon have a dramatic upsurge in recruiting, you can bet the Nike connection is at work.
If only one of those- give the school and its staff the credit... not Nike or the NIL ruling.

I don't think banks committed to oregon because of nike.
He even said as much. All the schools pretty much laid out the same plans.
Cristobal is a great recruiter and o-line coach. Campus is crazy.
Cristobal has been building an sec team.
