This whole Kansas thing is so bizarre.

They have time to do things like this since they don't have to worry about preparing their players for the NFL draft.

The logic is effeciency driven. Why would you expend resources on the same thing in Houston, Dallas, or Denver and compete with the Buffs, Sooners, or Shorthorns. Waste of money.
Yeah they're unlikely to get the blue chips out of NOLA. But just as unlikely to get them competing against their own conference.
But if you look where a team like TU or OSU is recruiting, where there is talent, NOLA sticks out. Most of their conference isn't spending resources on those 2nd tier guys in S La. So logic dictates you work it until competition pushes you out (they follow suit) but in the meantime you hope you establish "boots on the ground" first to prevent a UT from pushing you out.

Exactly. It's a great idea. If I were them I would be doing the same as well as pushing south Mississippi.
Two areas that have plenty of recruits for a lot of schools

Let me preface this with "I am not a Kansas fan in anyway shape or form".
However, they aren't stupid. Even the lower ranked guys in Louisiana would be better recruits than what they have in Kansas. So yeah they won't take any big time recruits or any recruits big programs want, but they will probably get a few guys looked over by all programs, maybe a few gems, and combine that with their few good recruits.
I am not saying this will work and make them more competitive in football, but hey it's better than them having to do the same thing each year. They are just trying something different. I mean look, even Alabama comes to Louisiana to recruit. So everyone knows a state like Louisiana has the most college level talent per capita.

This is actually good for LSU. Would you rather off the radar Nola guys going to Kansas? Or do you want them ending up at schools like Arkansas, Miss. State, or Ole Miss?

To be fair, one was a previous LSU commit and another is one of the top state recruits. I get your sentiment, but not exactly "off the radar". And no, I'm in agreement with conventional wisdom saying I highly doubt they actually end up there.

Kansas football Even Gayle Sayers is laughing.

The only thing that makes this topic noteworthy is that a perennially bottom tier football program with no fan base from 700 miles away from a state that has no geographic, political, or social relations with LA, other than a coach-who will be gone from there sooner or later-is ridiculously exhausting thousands of dollars to swim upstream to continued oblivion. The money spent would be better off donated to charity. Psychiatric evaluations are in order- for both the organizers and the kids who foolishly consider Kansas as a result of this nonsense.

This is being done to make it real for the ones they already got and their friends and cousins. Its not a laugh - one coach is working.

Just met a dude from kansas who had just flown into new orleans yesterday. I brought up football and he wasn't just aware of their LA signings, he was totally stoked.
Hell is rather those boys go to instate schools/ but since they don't: I'd rather Kansas get em rather than:
Ark.

Can't knock them for trying!

Very well said with a positive outlook. It's all about the kids overall, hopefully advancing themselves maturing and getting a good education becoming productive members of our society.
BUT they should always have intrest in LSU first.

Lol sure thing bud. Because a bunch of kids from New Orleans are actually going to spend 4 years in shithole Kansas under a coach who went 2-10 last season because he held a pep rally at fricking Barcadia to "make it real". You must be a really smart guy
