Starting to think maybe lsu needs to give him a shot on offense somewhere

Agreed. Let's get him on the field somewhere. He just makes plays.

Is it conceivable that he could do some of both? You could give him a few plays and then also just use him as a decoy in rare circumstances like some trickeration in a big game

High level cover corners that can return punts, a la Patrick Peterson are in extreme demand at all levels of football. Ju'Juan Johnson is probably suitable for that role at LSU.

Hopefully he’ll cure our punt return woes

We need defense so badly though.

We can’t cure punt return until our coaches give dudes chances. Aaron Anderson was maybe the greatest return man in Louisiana HS history. BK said he was the best he’s ever seen. He drops one ball, then we go to a dude who either runs away from the ball or calls a fair catch no matter what. Gotta let some dudes play

If Zavion Thomas enters portal due to Miss St coaching change, hopefully we don't foolishly pass for the 3rd time.

True, but we also only punt the football 1.8 times per game. Who cares about punt returns or kickoff returns when your offense is scoring touchdowns on 80-90% of all offensive drives.

He has lined up to receive a punt in at least 1 game, I think the other team kicked it out of bounds

He’s also a pretty damn good WR. Zavion Thomas and Will Sheppard should be at LSU next year. No brainers for the staff

A single punt return can win a game. I also would think it's highly unlikely that LSU's offense will be as productive next year as it is now.

I miss the days when we had an expectation that the Tigers could return a punt for a touchdown at any time. Now, we just hope someone will field the punt cleanly. The return against Georgia State was the most exciting punt return in years, which is sad.

Offensive concerns are totally pointless if our defensive situation doesn’t change. Period. All emphasis should be on fixing that. We couldn’t win with the second greatest offense and possibly the hardest player to defend in our history. That’s how bad our defense was. The fact that we dropped 3 games with this offense is an embarrassment. I’m sure no one is more aware of this than Kelly.

Does Anderson get another shot to return punts? Thought that was a big reason we brought him here.

I think after they saw the offense AND how bad the defense was, they didn't want to take any chances on losing precious offensive drives.

While many of you see it as a detriment of not letting a guy back in after they made a mistake, I see it as they are optimizing on their overall situation. If you had a good defense, you wouldn't worry too much about missing out on one possession because you had an elite offense too. With a terrible defense, your only chance is your offense and you damn sure don't want the opponent attacking your shite defense again.

Congratulations to Ju'juan for breaking the record. He got a shoutout from Brock Berlin on instagram. I really hope this kid lives up to the hype and we find the best ways to use his ability.

I need to update this thread with some graphics I’ve seen posted. Will try to get around to it today or tomorrow. Hanging with family this morning
