There's a new No. 1 tight end prospect on 247Sports, and LSU's the Crystal Ball leader with 10 months until the Early Signing Period. This week, 247Sports updated the rankings for the 2022 cycle, and Georgia's Jake Johnson moved up from No. 99 overall to No. 80. The shuffling in the rankings also made him the new No. 1 tight end on 247Sports, moving up from the No. 3 ranking he carried ahead of his junior season at Oconee County this past fall.

Good to see that there are talented TEs who still don't mind getting physical.

My only question about him at this point is why he already isn't on board

I have a feeling he wants to go through the whole process and make the best decision for him. I get it.

I still think he ends up at LSU if Max is here.

He is going to be a beast, but if Max were to end up transferring you can forget any chance of getting Jake. It is what it is for those of you who keep begging for Miles Brennan to be the starter once again.

It would probably be in our best long term interest that Brennan not regain the starting QB role, if we are going to land Jake.

Which is why Jake will take his time.

Max is going to go through spring, summer and then this year.

There's even a possibility if Brennan wins out that Nuss could also be #2 if he has a great practices as well.

You put your best healthy QB (talent + experience) out there no matter what. That being said, Max has a good shot and starting this season.

I think Clemson believes they’re way out in front

Not at all, I think they thought they maybe had a lead a while ago but even their 247 mod said like a month or two ago it should be LSU so long as Max was here.

Brennan doesn't have that much more actual game experience than Max,he does have significantly more practice experience.

Brennan still plays like he is a little bit scared, and he is also unusually slow afoot. I think even TJ Finley is quicker afoot than him.

Max didn't play with any fear and compared to Brennan or TJ Finley from a mobility standpoint he may as well be Usain Bolt out there.

Brennan is freaking slooooowwwww!

Nuss came in at 172 pounds there’s no way he should be considered number #2 by any means unless someone transfers. Would be quite alarming...

I think Nuss has the skill to be an exceptional QB and his stats and film are impressive, but you are correct. He needs time in the program to develop physically to be able to handle SEC level punishment.

Nuss is always going to be small.

I see the jake coming to lsu cause max is at worst #2 with a great chance to be the starter.

I just wonder if o pissed his family off by starting tj that entire time
