It is what it is for those of you who keep begging for Miles Brennan to be the starter once again.

Myles* Brennan can start this year as a senior and give the team to Max next year when his little brother is a freshman.

Max starting this season or not is inconsequential for his little brother.

My only question about him at this point is why he already isn't on board

Maybe he just wants to enjoy the process. I know I would if I were in a similar position

I think him riding with Max at the end probably won back good graces.. sometimes it’s best to keep a guy on the bench to learn a little longer. Granted it was at the expense of TJ, but neither guy was expected to play a down outside of garbage time this past year

It would probably be in our best long term interest that Brennan not regain the starting QB role, if we are going to land Jake.

When did TEs become more important than QBs?
Our best interest is to wait until Fall and play the best QB. If Brennan is the starter, hope he has a Burrow like year. He would then go to the draft and Johnson would have another opportunity to win the starting job.
What a great problem. We have so many potentially good QBs that some may be forced to enter the Portal.
With more on the way.
What a time to be an LSU fan.
Thanks Coach O.

You play the best player. End of discussion.

You do everything in your power to win now

Brennan has 2 years left

And next years QB Comp will be much more brutal for all challengers, with a Soph Nussmeier & Fr Howard

If Max doesn’t take it this year he might never get it

I was never trying to say that we don't try to win now, all I was saying is the consequence of Max not starting or sitting on the pine all year, may very well be a transfer. If he does transfer, then Jake isnt coming here period.

All I said was the result of Max not playing is likely him leaving and Jake following him to wherever he goes. There isnt any way that if Max leaves Jake comes here anyways, that's not going to happen. I think that is pretty much an indisputable fact.

Win, lose, tie it doesn't matter, if Max leaves, Jake follows and that is the truth.

This isnt referring to yourself, but some people on this board love to take words that are typed on a message forum and then draw conclusions that they want to believe on their own, rather than making sure to ask the source what they meant. That's called making shite up.

Hey baw, I’d venture to say it isn’t other teams fans trolling you with auto downvotes with statements like these...play the best player, always...not who has locker room seniority, the right colored skin, the right kin folk or any other reason, other than to go 1-0 every week. GDT’s

You wont get any argument out of me with that statement, but there is always going to be consequences to making decisions, regardless of what they are. The end consequence is that we accept not getting the #1 high school tight end in the country, thats all there is to it in this case.

I just wonder if o pissed his family off by starting tj that entire time

Max did fairly well, but TJ could actually pass downfield. Max could barely push the ball 30 yards down most of the time. His go routes were ugly.

We want(ed) to be a pass-heavy offense.

TJ was terrible at the times we needed him to play the best, and that isnt arguable. He threw a pick 6, came back and threw another one on the drive after that, and Coach O blew up on his arse on the sideline and deservedly so. He was benched, and was looking around appearing to not give a shite about how bad he fricked up.

I’m not arguing that in the slightest. I can just see why TJ started several games. His arm talent is undeniable and they wanted to see if he could develop.

If Brennan wins the job, Max isn't going anywhere, unless he's 3rd - and I don't see much chance of that.

When he signed with LSU, he was not slated to get much (or any) playing time until 2022.

He's still technically a freshman.

I hope whoever is the best QB gets the job, but it is in our best interest that Brennan is that guy because he keeps our QB continuity in line.

Having a freshman starter is horrible for QB recruiting and retention. Having an upperclassman as the starter gives everyone a path, rather than being behind someone in your class, or even younger.

I'm not sure what the right path is to be honest, play the veteran, or play the freshman. If they are close to equal in talent and results, I tend to go with the freshman. If the end product, wins/losses will be roughly the same, why not get the guy who is going to be here longer more experience to get better.

That is how I see it anyways. If the veteran is head and shoulders better, then its a pretty obvious choice, but you could lose the guy who has long term starter potential if he decides he isn't going to wait. Like I said there are going to be consequences either way, which ones are more acceptable than the others??

We need a great tight end in this offense, but I would not sacrifice the season for him. On the other hand, maybe we arent set up very good for the season after that at the TE position because of that choice. Choices vs Consequences with everything in life.

I’ve said this from the beginning, but I don’t think there’s any way in hell they bench Myles. They’ve been pumping him up for years that he’s the guy. I think ideally they would have liked Myles to have a great last year and go pro.

I dont see the issue with him having a great this year and going pro, if he's healthy and wins the competition.

I think people read to much into that.

Coach o just wants to win and will screw over anyone to do it. I don't think feelings come into it.
