If Ole Piss can wreck the portal so can we

I have a feeling we’re about to go nuclear in the portal. No breaks all gas. We just decided that last year it wasn’t worth doing it for whatever reason. No sauces just a gut feeling.

I hope you’re right but I am trying to temper my expectations, top talent in the portal ain’t cheap. We don’t need to spend the most (like Ole Miss did) to crush it in the portal, evaluations are going to be critical and we have staff to make the right choices.

All that wrecking and essentially the same season we had. Why overspend for potentially bad chemistry?

They had a better structure because of Austin Thomas. That’s why we hired him and they pissed off lane leading to his antics afterwards

One reason that Ole Mrs spends so much in the Portal is because Kiffin is terrible at recruiting High School players.
When your recruiting class comes in at 20 to 25 and you just have 7 or 8 4-star players, that frees up a lot of NIL money for the Portal.

That's a dangerous approach because that means you can't whiff on a single HS prospect where LSU, TX, UGA and Bama can whiff on up to half their class.
I really don't think Ole Miss can go after recruits on the portal like last year. They got lucky with A&M and Bama having changes. I view them similar to us and they definitely went for broke for this season.

2nd half of Atm and Fl along with the entire game against AL were absolutely one of the most humiliating 3 game stretches in LSU history. Just completely embarassing.
Lucky we pulled it out against SC and OM or we would have been 6 - 6.
Not counting on the portal at all to save this team.

By more organized if you've listened to some of the radio guys from last summer to now they explained that Ole Miss has one place the money goes.
LSU has TAF and Bayou Traditions. They did a good job of taking a bunch of small donations a month to large. When most alumni and fans are willing to give 10 bucks a month, you can do really well.

The majority of their donors are paying into a single collective and they are working hand in hand with the school on who to target and what they get paid. That’s a lot easier for the football staff to manage than dealing with multiple collectives or individuals larger donors who are doing their own thing.

The #1 reason to do it this year is 5th yr Sr QB. To make a run in the CFP to a NC you have got to have an experienced QB and talent on the team to utilize. BK called his shot. He needs to fill some holes but the freshmen this yr got a lot of experience and the class coming in is loaded.
If he doesnt return we just need to be strategic.
