ESD hurt interest in recruiting. The portal killed it. What we need is no ESD, earlier start to the season, and in turn earlier playoffs. Signing and portal should not open until after the CFP. The system we have now is a bunch of amateurs trying to be professionals. You want to have a professional setup, then copy the NFL's model.

With BK, there was no real hope of getting kids that weren't committed super early because they wanted LSU. No one came here to be coached by BK.

LSU was just not very cool. I think that changes once our staff is in place.

I signed up for this place in 2004 due to recruiting, and this is the first time ive been to this board and refreshed a bunch of times in a long, long time.

Yep. Me too. I was so productive around the house this football season. I'm going to need to start working on lowering my wife's expectations for next fall.

Even as rotten as CBK became, he still somehow managed to bring in good classes as far as rankings go. That was surprising to me.

But as Missah Chicken stated, LSU football needed new energy and Lane is the guy to do that.

I legit went on two trips during football season.
That’s something I never would have done in the past.

LSU was always on in the background but it was more white noise then a focal point

Nothing kills interest for modern day fans like bad offense. The offense this year was physically painful to watch.

well given how virtually all of our attrition from this class was processing, is pretty telling on how uninvolved kelly was.

in the past come hell or high water I would have made damn sure to make that Clemson road trip. Given BK's track record of season openers and apathy in general, I didn't even consider it

frick up until the summer, I assumed it was a neutral site game.

BK was a paper tiger. He gave off a weird, effeminate energy.

He was not remotely the guy I thought we were getting. I did not love the hire initially, but then looking at his past success and what I thought would be an insane drive to get a title on his resume, I thought he'd have success here.

Nope......never got remotely close to being relevant sans the Bama OT victory

The people we normally partied with weren’t doing shite for games either

Hell even the text threads that were normally blowing up during lsu games were largely silent.

Bilj, you’re spot on as usual

I didn’t love the hire, but I thought it made a ton of sense. And I never bought into the notion he was mailing it in. I didn’t think lifelong competitors could just turn it off like that. But he did. Shame.

But we’re back baby!

I've never thought of Dabo as someone with Swagger.

Some preachers have swagger. Some don't.

Dabo is too whiney and defensive.

one of two things happened:
1. He vastly underestimated the changing landscape of CFB with NIL and the portal, then decided this isn't for me.and became a distant CEO. I'll delegate and either it works out or I get fired, getting paid either way.
2. He took the job assuming if O and Les could do it, he could set things on cruise control here, get one too, and put the exclamation point on a HOF resume.

I think his sideline tirades this season were intentional and the dude wanted to get fired. If you can't even sniff the playoffs with an experienced starting QB and that NIL budget, when will you? He knew after UF it was cratering

Go watch the Jacques talk with Culotta when they discuss how disconnected he was.

Exact same here.

I've been so unproductive at work the past two weeks that if I don't get with it, I'll be on the streets with BK but without $50 million in my pocket!
