And he didn’t. Very few kids his size have his athleticism. He should be a 4* just based on potential.

If he was uncommitted and taking visits he’d be a hot name in recruiting right now.

Didn't someone say the changes were a direct result of the 247/Scout merger and has nothing to do with anyone being re-evaluated?

They are. I still think Dare is undervalued by the services. He didn’t play the recruiting game these past two years and paid for it.

I was completely opposite... not certain about Allen but 100% certain Dare was an early ranked 5*. So sum us together and we either cancel our votes, or confirm both, haha.

Early on, it was reported Rosenthal had little to no interest in LSU, and then confirmed it with Bama commitment. But even before that, he was 5* in the earliest rankings.

You would think they would give him a bump for being the highest TD producing lineman in the state!

Or, being a D1 P5 prospect on both sides of the ball.

It is a absolute shame that Dantrieze Scott isn't ranked higher. The kid can absolutely play. He will be a giant sleeper in this years class

He could play a whole number of positions from TE to DE to BOLB.

Have anyone seen him play? I've seen highlight's, the kid is a tad small, but is quick off the ball, sheds blockers quick and gets after the ball carrier. I thought he was worth a shot. That's just my view.

What? Of course that is justification.

Of course there is Bama bias. There is also LSU bias. It’s not as strong, and it should not be. The recruiting services probably use a lot of factors. One of those is looking at what schools are recruiting them. The top recruiting team is Bama. This is proved year in and year out by Bama contending. Shoot, they almost never lose two games before the playoffs. So if Bama is strongly recruiting a player, obviously he is probably very good.

The most likely explanation with Dare is that Bama realized he was not developing as they expected, so they discreetly told him he would not be in their class. Then he moved on to his second choice. Last year Bama grey shirted a 4 star. We didn’t even fill our class.

How many times does Bama have to cornhole you before you realize they are for real?

In Dares case, he still holds a Bama offer to my knowledge, correct? Bama still recuited him, even after his decommitment from them, correct? Still plays at the same tiny Louisiana high school, correct? Has the same freakish size and athleticism, correct? What could he have done to have such a drastic fall?

And no, he has not had a bad senior season. What I am highlighting is that when Dare was committed to Bama, he was a 99-98 rated prospect, but now he is rated below 88? To fall 10 full points on the prospect grading scale is a move that rarely ever happens. Your initial grading of a kid has to be awfully wrong, but he still has the same physical attributes as he did initially, and his production compared to level of competition has stayed the same as it did initially. The only thing that has changed was his school of choice. I understand Bama recruits studs, it’s Sabans calling card, but it’s really hard for anyone to justify such a drastic slide on the grading scale given things with this prospect have stayed the same in large part throughout his recruitment, with the only thing changing being his school of choice.

This just goes to show how all over the place recruiting rankings are. To my knowledge, all of these ranking changes were caused solely by removing the scout rankings and not from any sort of player evaluations. It's insane. Someone let me know if I'm mistaken.

And people say the Bama bump isnt real haha. When Rosenthal was committed to Bama, he was a 5 star, but now he is a 3 star? Even if Rosenthal had a bad year, there is no way to justify such a drastic fall. I remember Willie Allen was a 5 star entering his senior year, had a rough season, and did not show well at camps prior to it, but he only fell to a 4 star. If you cant see the bias, I dont know what to tell you.

The main problem is that the "scouts" think he is a great OT prospect, but he wants to play DL. If he was committed to playing OT, I think he would be rated much higher.
