They seem to be 2 promising players but has anyone seen them in person and what's the opinion on them. I see sims is only a 3/4 star right now but my dad was telling me he could be legit. Mays seem to have a lot of schools interested in him as well. Tia

Cant comment much on Sims but Mays is an elite PG. He will be an assist machine and can get to the hoop.

Was more impressed with Jalen Johnson than Sims when I saw them. Don't think sims is a bad player, but is a tweener and I question if he has the mentality for it.

The thing I worry about with Sims is he becomes Brian Bridgewater 2.0. Needs to keep developing an outside game.

I agree with you there. Just kind of in between a 3 and a 4. He looked like he had a good stroke, just don't know if he'll get the reps on the outside. Don't think he's a bad player by any means, but it'll be awhile before he makes impact at the college level.

I saw Sims play twice last week at the Sugar Bowl Prep Classic. He looked OK. Not much of an offensive game. Who is #20 on the U-High team? He looked much better. I will tell you who I was impressed with - the 7 foot junior center from Chalmette who is committed to Texas A&M. He was blocking shots like crazy and was knocking down threes. JJ must get on him.

20 is Jalen Johnson and yeah I've been pretty impressed with him.

My cousin is a high school bball coach in the Baton Rouge area and I always ask him about players and what not... He's coached against them all and is very smart when it comes to basketball so I trust his judgment.

He said Mays is legit. Very good true PG with a high IQ. Exactly what you want in a PG and is a great leader and floor general. He's gonna be a good player for LSU.

He said Sims is good, but like others on here, he's curious how his game will translate to the next level. His game is more of a PF, but he has the size of a SF and not sure if he can play away from the basket on the perimeter. But he said he's a good player, just not sure where he fits at the next level.

I think someone said his aau team is adidas so that's why he is committed to a&m. I really despise basketball recruiting, it seems aau has destroyed it.

basically with everyone else has sad..Sims is a tweener but I don't think he will ever be able to play on the perimeter..it really will be a head scratcher to see how he is used

I just saw the sophomore pt guard from Scottlandville play. I'd take him over Mays any day.

Wayde Sims has dominated at every level. He has dominated the summer circuits every summer. He will be fine for LSU.

Will comment on things around here...

Mays ... 6'4 PG with sneaky athleticism. Elite passer/ball handler. Shooting needs work but it's developing. Numbers have been insane with Findlay Prep.

Sims ... 6'6 F who is likely more comfortable in post but has already expanded range. Averaging about 1 made 3 a game right now. Has athleticism to defend perimeter but has to work on handles.

Mitchell Robinson (2017 F/C Chalmette) ... supposed to play with a Nike team this year so that COULD change things. One of two sure fire pros in the state IMO (Smart, 2018 PG, Scotlandville). Hit 3-4 3s last night and blocked 10+ shots in a triple double (team he played had 6'8 6'9 6'5 on front line).

Louisiana has some talent for LSU to build on, just a matter of getting the talent on campus.

Mays is very good and will be a key part of class
Sims issues is where do you play him, kind of small for a F and really not a SG either. Reminds me a little of Bridgewater in that he's a great high school player but will have limitations in college.
