You don’t think Alabama and Ohio State don’t have the same issues. Bama processes every year

We had the #4 class in the country

If that’s “costing us” sign me up for another.

Not really.

Old recruiting proverb: "It's not the players you lose that hurt you, it's the players you take that can't play."

If you don't love a player, you're better off letting him go, even if you don't replace him.

What did it cost us exactly?

It’s not the class it’s the bodies. Clemson Alabama and Ohio State get the lineman. By that I mean they get the high. 4* 5* Lineman that aren’t projects. Sure they’re a one year project but that’s it. LSU will only compete year and year out with lineman. But losing out because the NFL is a passing league. Oklahoma passes and that’s their pitch.

We beat Bama for two top tier linemen in Guillory and Roy and Marcus Dumervil (high 4* OT)

What linemen did we miss out on that had a shot with?

I see you downvoted mine post already. Let’s see if I wake up with my coffee and let you understand how the lineman classes have gone the past let’s see 2-3 years.

We 100% should have taken the DB out of BR last year.

And last year Coach O did better. A couple times before that he had been left standing there on signing day with his dick in his hand with top talent going elsewhere and nobody to replace them with.

Like Deculus, Dumerville and Delinger?

There was no lesson to learn last year. We ended up with some open spots. We’ll use those on grad transfers or jucos who will be at least as good as the guys we processed. We have recently used those spots for...
The cornerback transfer this year
Traore - a solid two deep guy
Lewis - A day one NFL starter
Burrow - The GOAT
Gaye - a solid starter at DE
Cox - a starter at LB

So, we’re doing fine.

But, Bama closes out every year. Last year we whiffed on Burton, Jarret, Burch, Jackson (didn’t ever expect him anyways though). We should have had Major Burns and Jalen Lee in the class.

Yes, Saban is a recruiting machine and always has a solid close. LSU never closes as well. One good thing O did was leave a spot for Burrow. But yeah, LSU needs to learn to close with a bang.

No they don’t. The last 2 years they didn’t good signing days as far as announcements go
2 years ago their fans were irate because UGA whipped them on signing day

Comparing Juco guys like Lewis and Gaye to transfers like Cox and Darren Evans is not an apples to apples comparison. The Jucos sign when the high school guys sign. You don’t “fill out your class” with jucos. They are a part of your initial class and then you fill it out with grad transfers.
