JJ-When Hootie made his DECISION he didn't have anyone make that for him to go to Bama. So why didn't HE call the LSU staff? To me that was disrespectful. If he was MAN enough to make a decision to Bama, he should be MAN enough to contact the LSU staff. JMO.

The NOLA site quoted his mom as saying, she let him make the decision, her statement about the coaches was she just felt the bad guys were more genuine.

I remember thinking when I read this, What, this is ridiculous Bama more geniune than LSU???

Seems that her perception has been disproven, hence the decommittment and probable 'shame' by Hootie and 'his camp'.

I too think he needs to man up and reach out to his LSU recruiter and make his true feeling be known.

A general thought: It seems that the staff deals with Jamal and his parents. Tony Brown and his parents. Ed Paris and his parents. Clifton Garrett and his parents. Devin Voorhies, etc.... What's up with the in-state guys that have been recruited for multiple years having representatives to deal with the LSU staff?

This is the right question to ask.

Hootie could get in touch with Miles tonight if he wanted to.

His mom was very disrespectful and he hasn't call our coaches if he is really interested in us.

i dont know squat but i dont think Hootie is playing games. I think he genuinely was torn and realized he made a mistake. It sucks for him if he's now realizing this and it's too late. Kids should wait until they're absolutely sure and not be pressured. At the same time, it is a business, and schools need to do what's best for them as well. It'll all work itself out.

I don't think too many rational people believe that Hootie is playing games, but it wouldn't shock me at all if Bama is trying to manipulate the LSU recruiting class by dangling some of their own recruits. I don't have a clear idea how, but Saban knows what he is doing. He doesn't just want to put together a great class, he wants to mess ours up. It wouldn't shock me if he is playing these Saban to Texas rumors in his favor for Bama either. That a-hole is an evil genius when it comes to recruiting.

Because the LSU staff told him

Do you want to re-phrase that, or are you saying he actually called and talked to them himself?

It seems to me that he needs to grow up and take done responsibility here and quit playing games with the schools involved . I suspect the street agents have him in their hip pocket.

This is what it smells like to me also. For some reason, those who are overly invested in N. LA high school football wont' acknowledge the obvious questions surrounding the "family friend".

Not to mention that all of this goes down as Saban has Kiffin in town. Not saying that Kiffin is involved, but something out of Tuscaloser stinks.

if he told Stanford to "[screw] off," then he really needs to question his advisors.

i wish the best for this kid, as i do all recruits, whether they pick LSU or not. it has to be an immense pressure cooker if you're a top recruit.

that said, there's a lot of pressure on the coaching staff as well.

Who called LSU? Bakari Guice??? If it was him that called, I wouldn't call back either.

If thats true, they need to act like adults dealing with a teenager. Lying to the guy is uncalled for.

LSU was probably blindsided by the hootie decommit. this is all about adams at the moment and what LSU probably told JA when hootie was out of the picture. with only 2 weeks before JA commits, LSU cannot appear to be going back on what it told JA and his two good buddies, Brown and Paris.

all kids are different but Brown and Paris don't appear to be concerned about two freshman (white, robinson) corners who are starters. why should JA be concerned about hootie when there are 2 potential openings at safety.

I always try to keep in mind his roots at Toledo and MSUn.

Stuff like that has always gone on between MI-tOSU-ND for decades. And he was in the middle of it trying to beat those guys (he never beat all 3) year after year. You know he brought some of that to Bama (and LSU).

ETA: he's already said it wasn't B. Guice, emphatically. I'm sorry I brought that up.

JJ-My point is when the call was made to the staff, did HOOTIE make the call or did one of his HANDLERS make the call. And if HOOTIE didn't personally make the call, WHY NOT??? The whole process with Hootie he ALWAYS said his decision would be a BUSINESS decision, at least that what he told Davon.
