Thats the one complaint I’ve seen on here about ish. Plays when he wants to kind of thing. We’ve dealt with a few players like that in the past. If he chooses us, hopefully he changes that mentality

What does this mean? What kind of negotiations are there in recruiting?
Depends on the recruit. It could include cushy jobs for family, vehicles, housing, women and of course the almighty dollar.

quote:Lol. Lanard was the #1423 ranked player in the country.
Lanard was a 3* high school senior who was in a different signing class while Leonard was the #1 player in the country and considered a generational talent.
247sports gave Lanard Fournette a grade of - 78
247sports gave Rodney Sospher a grade of - 78
Keep spinning that false narrative though.
quote:He’s the number one defensive tackle in the country and Jimbo Fisher, Nick Saban and Ed Orgeron are selling out for him.
Ish is by all accounts lazy as shite and I don’t think I’ve ever heard him mentioned as a top talent in his own recruiting class
quote:Well I strongly disagree with you. We need elite lineman to begin competing with Bama again, if it takes 2 scholarships to land Ishmael then you do it. No question.
There’s no excuse to waste one of our 5 remaining scholarships on a kid who can’t even play football,
By the way our coaching staff agrees with me on this one.
quote:So the “tards” on here are freaking out about the ranking? Where are the “all accounts” of him being lazy coming from again? Because once again- all the major players in college football are making him a top priority, but I’m sure you know much better with your evaluations.
I know the tards who’ve migrated here from the rant are going to see the 5* ranking and freak out but taking him if we have to take the brother would be terrible for our future depth.
quote:i love when people say this shite. Oh let’s just go find 2 - 4*s and throw them in the class, no big deal. It’s not that easy, we’ve been trying to get that done in this class and have struck out.
Two 4*’s would be much better for us if we could make it happen than Ish and his brother

With 85 scholarships you can have rotational players.

I’m not saying I would turn him away, just saying what I’ve been reading
And I agree with rotational guys, last years class provided us some depth in the future, but we have to close on a few guys or we will be thin once again

There’s no excuse to waste one of our 5 remaining scholarships on a kid who can’t even play football, especially when we only have 1 DL committed and Ish could very well be a huge bust. Not buying it. I know the tards who’ve migrated here from the rant are going to see the 5* ranking and freak out but taking him if we have to take the brother would be terrible for our future depth. I don’t care about the lazy part. Kids are kids but also competitors. So what if he can’t get hyped to give it all against Rice. He will get up for the big matchups like everyone else. And if its a conditioning problem then you have an elite disruptor in your pocket to use on passing down packages or however you see fit.
Also the brother is worth it if you think Ish will be worthy of his ranking. There are plenty of ST only players on our roster. We could go from a 1 DL class to Ish, Ika, one of the Mississippi guys and Evans.

I have a friend who is a huge Bammer and he seems to think they get Ish in the end - but says that Saban doesn't do package deals (why they didn't get Keenan Allen re: his brother). Especially with limited spots left and big fish on the line I don't think Alabama would offer Rodney. According to Ish it has to be a full scholly for his brother (not a preferred walk-on or anything). <-- that came from Shea Dixon
I hope the OP is correct. I guess we will see if Ish is serious about taking his brother with him. Hell.. I don't even mind getting Rodney to LSU. Even if he's not a stud he's another warm body at DL where the class is currently thin. Who knows.. he could end up being decent.

Funny how now everybody waffles and are excited at the possibility of getting Ish. Just a couple days ago, I was lambasted for posting a couple pics of Ish throwing up the 'L'. Bringing Rodney won't be as bad as people think. He's one warm body on a roster of a 100. He's a lot smaller than Ish already; maybe LSU could put him on the treadmill and transition him to another position.

I hope they've expended massive time and money resources on Sopsher. Maybe Sopsher will be the turning point in LSU-Alabama recruiting battles... the first to play them... the Anti-Collins.

Again I ask why is this Rodney thing even brought up? Didnt he drop out of JUCO this year and hasnt played football since high school? How can he get into any D1 university?

You just have to offer the scholarship. If he can't make it happen on his end, then thats on him.

Every single year it plays out exactly the same, lol....

Nah. The other option is to tell the whole family to go frick themselves.
Personally I like the idea of telling them to go frick themselves. The older brother can't even put in the work to even be on a JUCO roster for a whole season, let alone see the field. The younger brother will be nothing but an energy vampire for whichever staff has to deal with him. Saban and his army of staffers are better prepared than any other staff in the country to deal with guys that need to be babysat, just on sheer volume of people to deal with it.
