From a recruiting standpoint, Kelly needs to step up his game when comparing him to the other 2. They also both won a natty.
Neither coached in the portal era. Different landscape, more moving parts, etc.
Roster management is much more important. Kelly appears to be managing that very well. Few decommits, relatively few portal losses (and no key players), few opt outs, etc. Very stable and drama free.
Miles, and especially Orgeron, were horrible roster managers and both would be bad in the portal era. Orgeron wanted to win signing day and then his classes would be 3/4 gone in two years.

n3 ranks this class 6th at the moment with the chance to sign 2 top 100 kids in Feb
No we aren't ranked #6. We are ranked #12 in the Team rankings. You missed a detail and didn't notice you were looking at the 2023 rankings.

Why does this board thinks LSU has been recruiting top 3 classes?

Agreed roster mgt way more important today…those Louisiana kids headed to the A&Ms of the world will be transfers back to LSU in 2 years…
You need kids who want to be here, not just looking for the $$.

Ehh they routinely got better classes. Whatever you want to believe, class rankings correlate to championships.
Per 247, O's first two classes were #7 and #15.
BK's first two classes have been #6 and #12.
BK is actually recruiting better than O.

Get out of here with your pesky facts.
Also, those rankings to don't take into account the portal, which is a huge element in today's game and hard to quantify.

I disagree about Miles though I do think he got worse as he tried to account for the changing landscape of CFB. Neither was as good as Saban is, obviously, and I think Kelly is probably better as well.

Probably
As to the guy you are responding to who said:

Miles' first two seasons as head coach 13 & 9 on 247
O's first two seasons as head coach 7 & 15 on 247
Kelly's first two seasons as head coach 6 & 12 (currently) on 247

Only started really following recruiting in the last few years, I know it isn’t done yet but is it unusual for a major program to be dialed in with all 27 ready to sign today?
Several yrs ago Miles had a class (Freak Johnson class IIRC) that all signed on time, no adds, no defects, all wrapped up by 3:00 pm. I was pissed off because there was no drama to follow…

if we have no 5 stars or recruite 5 starts there is no drama,,,keep recruiting 2 stars and things will flow smoothly.

Posted on 12/20/23 at 12:09 pm to SFCSaint77
I think with our change in strategy, basically getting guys that would be less attractive to the juggernaut teams like Bama and apparently Ole Miss now, we’re able to keep these recruits from flipping to Tulane or ULL.
The BK effect!

Why are so many fans on here paranoid, this isn’t the Saints. LSU is an elite destination, have one of the best athletic programs in the country, no we don’t get everyone we want but nobody does. In the last 20 years, there is only one program that can say they’ve accomplished more than the Tigers.

Its going smoothly bc you have a majority of players “happy to be here” that normally wouldn’t get the time of day from LSU.
Are you retarded?

Nah you are just a dumbass and don't know what you are talking about
The rankings you posted are On3 industry rankings - similar to 247 composite
In On3's actual ranking that just takes into account where they rank players we are ranked #6
