Only way really to do it is shut down college football for a season or so. And sign players to school that only join that conference players union if they don’t do that then they play somewhere else. Will turn into a realignment of conferences again and probably a much smaller conference with league minimums and much more talent then everyone else and the all the rest as feeder school/conferences with lower league minimums and they will play there way into the best league and then the NFL

Reform CFB under old rules and it’s the choice of the player to play there or not.

Schools without unlimited NIL need to consider doing this - Scholarships and Academics

Without attaching the universities to the teams there would be very little fan support. The universities need to grow a backbone and realize there is no college football, or any other collegiate sport, without the brand.Try making a NFL minor league and see how long it lasts. The success of the sport is 100% built off the alumni and fans of each individual school. Without it there would be no revenue.

The players are not going to police themselves but they’ll learn quickly sugardaddies do not give their money away.

The money behind NIL at every university will see it fixed.

Exactly! There is no rule against universities and it’s coaches declining to except athletes that operate outside of said rules ! Problem is the coaches and collectives created this problem

There absolutely are laws against competing companies (universities) colluding to limit salaries in any way. It would be like every restaurant in town joining a restaurant association and agreeing to only pay waiters a certain amount, or preventing waiters from moving from one restaurant to another. That is very illegal.

Legally there are, it’s called collusion and I believe that the NFL got hammered a few years ago for this during the year where there was no cap.

I made this argument to some of my friends. What is preventing college players from playing an unlimited number of years by taking one or two courses per year even through a doctoral . Play twenty years like the pros since there is no age issue. What’s to say a pro player comes back to college and plays more years . Some legal framework has to be established otherwise courts are not going to put standards in place until
that framework is agreed .

Under this scenario, If you suffer an season ending injury with a star key player you can just go into the market and buy one if you have the cash to do so. So really no roster is protected if the money is right. So depth on the bench is really getting more complicated as time goes by. Coaches recruiting efforts are less important than $$$$.

I hate all of this so much.

All it takes is every conference to shut down football for a year or two and watch how much gets reformed.

We just dont want to do what's necessary.

The problem is there is no law that allows the NCAA to govern players.

so when they treat them differently than any other employee or even any other student the law is going to say you can’t do that.
