As a parent of a recruit, does the Miami situation, and continual problems associated with it, affect your opinion of them? Obviously it's a big deal to be recruited by them, but do the issues they are having turn you off to them?

That's a good question, but I don't think it's fair to ask that of someone involved in the process right now in this sort of public environment. Perhaps a better hindsight question? ...jmo

That schedule isn't accurate. They switched out one game for Loranger. Not sure which one. And they played Newman in NOLA last year, so that game should be in BR.

I'm guessing that's supposed to be Ascension Christian.

Ascension Catholic's schedule shows them playing at Episcopal and at University on 9/07. I changed it to show A. Christian.

Yes they switched out Ascension Christian for Loranger. They will also be playing Newman at home and scrimaging the 3A state champs Ascension Catholic to begin the year. Should be a fun season.

He has 4 offers so far. LSU, Florida, Miami, La Tech. No timeframe or hurry on making a decision. He will just be entering his junior year of high school this fall. Plenty of time to make the right decision for him.

He has the opportunity of being one of the Louisiana leaders of what could be the greatest class in LSU's history and potentially nationally as well. By getting on board early, he can help recruit that great class, starting with Louisianians Robinson, Clapp, Fournette, Willis, Jones, Washington, Noil, Quinn, Dupre and Godchaux.

It is always the recruit's choice on whether it is more important to enjoy the process versus being on a mission to be a leader in putting together his class. Taking ownership of that class. Shepard and Brazil chose the latter and each became leaders of their class. However, the recruit must first have decided where he wants to commit to. As an LSU fan, obviously I am biased toward LSU being that shcool.

Enjoyment of the process has a temporary effect that lasts for a short period of time. Becoming the leader of potentially the greatest class has a lifetime effect. The four to five year experience as a leader of such a group has lifetime ramifications.

However, I understand that if the recruit doesn't know where he wants to sign, he must go through the process to make that major decision.

Pretty sure we play Loranger in the third game of the season. Pretty tough schedule, not a lot of seniors on this year's team after having a huge senior class last year.

justus-That is very well said. Ronald knew from the start that LSU was where he wanted to play, we sat down and talked about really not wasting another coaching staff time if you knew that is not where you wanted to be. Then again LSU was his dream school. I understand alot of kids want the experience, but deep down most know where they are going from the beginning.

You're right, the majors offered by the universities will play a huge part in his decision. No "general studies" here. He still hasn't decided on a major. He's interested in a few different subjects, but he still has plenty of time to decide.
