Football recruiting going forward

Going to be very hard for LSU to get obvious elite players with NIL. They currently have only one player in the top 100. LSU will need to have coaches that are good evaluators of players that can be developed (diamonds in the ruff). NIL is the new recruiter of highly ranked players.

Your crystal ball must have got a Crack in it. You realize that every single team that is a player in NIL has been paying players this entire time ?
While it's out in the open now, those who have been involved with paying players, like LSU, will continue to be.
There have also been bidding wars. Ask Mississippi State about it, or Auburn.

Might as well just cancel the season and focus on LSU's Quidditch Team.

The dollars at stake in NIL are far greater than anything that was paid under the table in the prior era.
It's not even remotely similar.
I don't believe the OP's doomsday comment about LSU not being able to compete, but to compare the pre-NIL era with the current era is off base.

Josh Pate had a good piece on it tonight. The cost of doing business and simply maintaining your current status in the conference you play in is going way up. Until something is done about it, the cost will keep going up as teams become more desperate to improve their standing.

Agree and the biggest difference isn't the top guys, though their price is higher as well. The part that laymen are not getting is that now instead of a few major "paid" targets, all of them get paid. Most major powers can handle a bidding war for the 5*. They are being broken down by the bidding wars over the fringe guys that may not be so fringe elsewhere therefore raising the price. Tylen Singleton almost was in this category. His value theoretically is higher for a program like Arkansas or TCU. All is not equal. Unfortunately the answer is gonna have to include profit sharing and a union of some sort to regulate the anarchy that exists currently. NFLU

The days of a position coach being a great recruiter are gone. Coaches could sell recruits on several factors about a team: development, early playing time, tradition, close to home, etc. The massive amount of amount being offered negates all that. A bad recruiter could offer a kid significantly more and the kid is going to listen. It’s just like a company offering to double or triple your salary. Orgeron was a great recruiter, but he would be seriously limited by LSU’s financial resources in today’s recruiting world.

The point is that LSU isn't the Little Sisters of the Poor that some of you are trying to make us out to be.
