Fong says LSUs chances of having 1st ranked class are “good”, but Bama & UGA still fav.

Current Ranking: No. 4 (287.90) Forecast to finish No. 1: Good Brian Kelly and his first-year staff have as much momentum on the trail as any program in the country right now as the Tigers heat up on the field and control their own destiny to the SEC Championship Game — and perhaps beyond. Currently sitting at No. 4 in the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings, this class sits at 25 pledges and bubbling up for more. Coming out of another visit to Baton Rouge this past weekend which included LSU’s win over Alabama, I logged a 247Sports Crystal Ball Forecast in favor of the Tigers for five-star cornerback Desmond Ricks. The Bayou Bengals have looked like the one to beat since the IMG Academy standout announced he was reclassifying at the end of last month. LSU is in the lead group for five-star athlete Nyckoles Harbor, they’re the 247Sports Crystal Ball for highly-ranked defensive back Javien Toviano and they appear to be in the top two or three for coveted edge rusher Tausili Akana. Kelly and company are also trying to work a flip or two down the stretch including Georgia offensive tackle commit Bo Hughley, who was on campus over the weekend.

The fact that LSU is in the discussion for #1 tells me either way, we’ll bag an elite class.

We're not getting Harbor. He's a very academically motivated kid so it's obvious why he's leaning towards Michigan

The idea that there are large differences in undergraduate education is pretty easily refuted.

He wouldn't survive a junction boys camp at LSU anyways. Scouting report has turned to him being a soft player by those watching him. Really a track guy not a football guy.

It's not just the academics. He comes from an upper middle-class family. The majority of Michigan's students come from upper middle class families. Like Notre Dame, kids go to these kind of schools just so they can brag about being at a prestigious school. When the average family income is over $170,000 that says it all.

Very true, the big differences are in graduate or research programs, not in generic undergraduate class that all teach pretty much the same. Its up to the student to make the most of his classes

You’re saying this as sarcasm? Or is he really just soft?

Sarcasm
. But EJ wrote an article about how he is more of a track guy.

Whew, i was just about to ask if you got hacked. Didn't sound like something that you'd say.

The article said that he doesn't like to get hit when playing TE and not 100% committed to playing DE either. I feel like RLDSC FAN explained it from the get go when he's talked about Harbor that he is 100% track first. EJ also covers Michigan FWIW.

I find it silly that he declares Alabama a near lock, then says Georgia has a great chance, and that even moreso LSU has a good chance to finish number one.
Sorry but that is simply nonsensical.
Alabama favorite, Georgia decent chance, LSU outside chance.

Truthfully, #1 means nothing. Its how well those players fit in positions of need. You can grab every 5 star lineman and wide receiver in the country and end up #1 ranked, but you will get torched on every passing play because you don't have good DBs.
That was O's problem: he went for all the skill players and had high ranked classes, but he didn't get people that filled the holes he had. That's why we are going after so many O Line guys this year.

Yeah, Harbor wants to be a physician so going to LSU for Pre-Med shouldn’t be an issue.

I could care less about the #1 spot. Top 5 with Players that fit the scheme and attitude of the team is what I want to see signed. The alignment continues!
