re: Fong believes Texas is in the best position for 5-Star DL Dominick McKinley and 2 other 5*

I think Texas ends up just like A&M. They’re gonna spend all this money on these 5* guys, and then a mass transfer portal exodus happens when they have another crappy year.
You can’t pay all these guys big money and not pay them asap. The pressure from the boosters who fund all of this want results immediately, so the coaches either play them and piss off upper class starters who will transfer, or not play them immediately and then the kids jump ship.

So the Texas insiders says the mom has taught for like 25 years and Texas putting out the education front to her.
McKinley and his mom (yes she's a teacher) have both said that education comes before athletics. He is very interested in Cmptr Science. I believe McKinley will ultimately choose what school is best for his future vocational career and he has no problem leaving the State. You just don't get any positive feelings that he is leaning towards LSU. I'm hoping he commits/signs with the good guys. This interview link below was from July 2023

I don't believe this, but if it's true, we're wasting our time.

Sark doesn't build champions because he lacks the coaching acumen. They will learn. 8-4 maybe?

I got blasted on here for saying our staff is coming for LSU's throat. I get it, I shouldnt have put it like that on this board, but thats basically what is happening. We havent recruited Louisiana this hard maybe ever. Yea we are throwing big money around, but that wouldnt make a difference if we hadnt joined the SEC. Thats the big change. Everyone wants Louisiana athletes but we were dead in the water with the elite kids because they werent gonna play in the Big 12.
In the last 6 years Texas has had 4 classes in the Top 5 with little to show for it. Until you prove that you know how to win games, the horns will remain "all hat and no cattle".

Name them
Don't say Bo Davis either because he hasn't gotten anyone worth a shite since he left Bama
I mean Jeff Banks, Tashard Choice (just started), and Kyle Flood are all pretty great recruiters. Chris Jackson is in his first recruiting season and reviews have been glowing, he will land at least one five star this cycle.

Sark isn’t doing anything. He’s pathetic. Kids are following the piles of money. Texas and A&M have unlimited cash. Just look at what jumbo makes. LSU can’t compete win or lose

Elite qbs make quite a difference. 2019 should have convinced us of that. Anomalies are in every facet of life. Go take a look at the national champs since 2003 and then compare the classes that lead up to them. 2 things you'll find, elite recruiting classes(top 5, mostly mixed with top 3s) make up the great majority of them and one that may surprise, LSU is more exception than rule. Hence a much debated national title(03), a near miracle only missing holy intervention for another and another that can only be described as perfect scenario with a DL coach playing HC that managed to hire an analyst who succeeded in outgenuising the football world for 1 special season with the greatest single season qb of all time. Mixed in between, a couple of elitish type seasons, a couple of awful ones, and mostly 8-4/9-3 types. Essentially an above average to good program. We overestimate our own history yet expect to be elite. We've never been up to the standard we demand.

Lmao no my guy. Take off the tin foil hat. They just recruit better. Rankings obviously aren’t 100% but they are a good indicator on talent. Statistics have proven this

Look I'm not trying to talk shite about Kelly, but people like you keep pumping all this confidence when he has almost no skins on the wall.
In the 15 seasons before Kelly ND managed 2 ten win seasons. In 12 seasons Kelly had 7 with 3 seasons with only 1 loss. It's not an easy place to win with admissions and the independent status. He also had a 34-6 record at Cincy before going to ND so yeah, he can coach.

When Melvin Hills committed to Texas, he mentioned only one reason...Bo Davis. He said Davis had produced highly-drafted defensive linemen at both LSU and Alabama, so he wanted to be coached by Davis. That was the only reason he gave for picking Texas. I've wished for awhile, like many others have, that Bo Davis was on the LSU staff.

We don’t go after all the top position groups top players I have no idea why and this is why we won’t win a championship here as long as Brian Kelley is here
Well there is this guy named Underwood whom is the #1 player in his class and have visited LSU on several occasions. So there's that.

How did he produce at LSU when he's never coached DL at LSU?
He was a strength coach

And what is Kelly doing? Bringing in JD whether some believe it or not gives the team a dynamic QB and a Heisman candidate this season. Nuss has the potential to be elite. Hurley was a 5 star QB before reclassifying. Underwood is seriously considering LSU.
It looks like Kelly is changing the narrative of LSU being QB poor and Burrow being an anomaly.
