i don’t know? I think there are kids with lesser physical talents that have the intangibles to lead that can do better.

First the positives: His size Ball comes out quick from his hand Arm strength Negatives: Accuracy- he is widely inaccurate. Receivers don’t help him much but he has a ton of improvement in this area Demeanor- I watched this a lot from beginning until end of the game. He is lackadaisical out there. He never hustles on or off the field. He walks to the huddle from the sideline and does not hustle off. He also doesn’t not appear to be fiery in trying pick his guys up. Does not seem to be a leader. I saw him to be kind of Ho hum just sitting in the pocket. Almost like hey I got a scholly to LSU and I’m just going to take a stroll and sling this ball out there. Saw him on the RPO, run twice the whole game. He’s 6’7” 225 lbs. he should be able to plow kids and get 5 yds ever time to keep a drive alive. I didn’t see him want to initiate contact at all. Almost like he doesn’t want to get hurt. Definitely doesn’t appear to want to lay it on the line for his team.
He's Jamarcus Russell 2.0
ive been saying this since the first time I saw him.

I can't really judge a 16 year old for how he acts when his team is doing poorly. He won't be 16 and he'll certainly have more talent around him should he come to LSU.
That said.. one QB will always get the majority of snaps.
Personally, I think that will be Parrish at this point, but if I were the LSU staff I wouldn't turn down a kid like Finley unless there was a "sure thing" there to take to his place.

Ive seen him live a few times. Not an SEC QB yet. You are correct hes not going to take a hit for the team. He’s acting like he’s holding out for the draft already

I really haven't watched and evaluated him enough to make detailed observations. He is what, 16 or 17 years old? IDK. I think he is a jr this season. From what I have seen he does need to work on accuracy but he has the physical tools and attributes you look for in a HS QB. His mentality and cerebral level isn't something one can get a good grasp of while in HS. So, as of now, all I can really say is I agree with you that he needs to work on his accuracy. His size is closer to Jamarcus, but the way he moves reminds me of Rohan Davey.

Made a hell of a throw here. LINK

My nephew plays at St. Paul’s where his dad watches all his games. He said Finley looked like an offensive lineman. He was very unimpressed with him as a quarterback, and said LSU better look elsewhere. He did say he had a big arm though.

A QB with a big arm with no accuracy. Here we go again.

Except JR was one of the most accurate QBs we ever had
If Finley can throw for 68% comp pct with 28tds and 8 int. I’ll take him

Let's wait and see for sure about his accuracy next year, in Finley's senior season.
It would be great if he has a little more talent around him.

Agree
He looks very accurate in camps, when the receivers are where they're supposed to be. Of course there's also not a pass rush and live tackling in those settings either, so it's possible he becomes inaccurate when he's pressured and it has nothing to do with his receivers.
Write up from Spiegleman about his game this week.

Rivals250 quarterback TJ Finley strung together an impressive outing, completing 20-of-37 attempts through the air for 279 yards and three touchdowns. The 4-star passer added another 46 yards rushing on 10 carries and a third touchdown for Ponchatoula.

How is that Finley's fault?

Wow. Nice selective quote douche. The post I was replying to was saying the coach totally screwed up by changing his scheme just to fit Finley, which was the reason for the three and outs. So, you, my friend, can go frick yourself.

A situation that is partly due to lack of team talent and partly due to Hank making it worse. He junk the offense he has run for 30 plus years and won over 300 games with to go to the spread because of the talent of one player. he has done the players and program no favors by this. it has exposed a terrible defense to begin with and made it worse. The offense will 3 and out and put a bad defense back on the field.

Thanks for posting. I would like to see his stats from week to week. Running for 46 yards on 10 carries is not bad. I wonder how many times he was sacked. Throwing for close to 300 yds. and 3 touchdowns isn't bad.

I went to high school with him so I can attest to the fact that nearly everything here is correct, however
dude is not 6'7 unless hes grown 3 inches in the last year.

He's a legit 6'6". His little brother is even 6'4 now

I know it's not game situations, but games can be misleading when judging accuracy, where it's nearly impossible to determine if the quarterback is inaccurate or if the receiver wasn't where he was supposed to be.
Wow this is a first for me. SO game situations make it hard to tell if a QB is accurate or not? WTF are you babbling about? This is maybe the stupidest thing I've read on TD in a while

You can't always tell if an incomplete pass is due to the qb not being accurate or if the receiver wasn't where he was supposed to be. For example, the receiver runs a post and the qb thinks the receiver is running a crossing route. The pass is going to appear to be inaccurate, but that's only because the qb and receiver weren't on the same page. It has nothing to do with the qb's ability to throw accurately.

Reminds me of when I went to see #1 player in America, Dylan Moses vs Rummel. Was like, ummm, he not even the best player on his defense. But it was one game so I never said anything.
