I've seen him play every season since he was in 8th grade and in 7v7 in the summer. He's huge and can throw it a mile. He loses way more than wins yet has an ego comparable to Willie Beamon without the drive to succeed. He is Jamarcus Russell AFTER the draft and getting the signing bonus; With the entourage to boot. I hope our Tigers sign not only Parish in 2019 but another qb in 2020.

If you were Jamie Howard, would you ever consider sending your kid to LSU? Come on...

Finley observations

1. Kid is surrounded by next to no talent. (No disrespect to his teammates)

2. People will complain about his "fire", "drive", or other bullshite term when discussing him, but fail to understand this is a teenage kid who despite getting his arse beat every Friday night trots out on the field with his team. In addition no one on here knows what is discussed in the locker room. How many teenagers are that motivated to at 16 to carry all the pressure of dragging a horrible team out the ditch. He still has the rest of this season and next year to transition to the leader his team needs him to be. People act as if this kid is supposed to be Tom Brady or Peyton Manning on the sideline.

3. Obviously the coaches see something in the kid they can or are willing to work with so he can have success at LSU.

I haven't personally seen Holstein or Finely play but, with LSU's QB history, this could be another big mistake offer.

It seems like to me Holstein is better and has the drive to get better.

First off if you don't know Finley you need to stop with this bs, Finley is only 16 years old with another year of high school to improve in all those areas that you guys are complaining about. I don't understand how people expected LSU to sign major recruits when the fans shite on them.

Yes family members of recruits and recruits read this site and other sites, because they like to see what is being said about them.

Pretty alarming that he isn’t even the best quarterback in the district yet he has an offer.

Ah. So the hate on Finley is coming from people who are butthurt that "their guy" is better and doesn't have an offer?

Only in camps, where he looks like he's very accurate, can make all the throws and has good touch. I know it's not game situations, but games can be misleading when judging accuracy, where it's nearly impossible to determine if the quarterback is inaccurate or if the receiver wasn't where he was supposed to be.

Of course, games are better to judge grit, leadership abilities and competitiveness. It sounds like that's a pretty bad football situation, though, so it might be a little unfair to make a final judgment on him based solely on games.

I guess, in the end, I'll just trust his offer list and our coach's evaluations over some guys who saw him play against their team and weren't impressed as Ponchatoula was getting their brains beaten in.

Get ready to get called stupid and other names. I have shared these same observations and have been repeatedly attacked.

I have seen him play many many times. I would like nothing more than to have a fellow Ponchatoula alumnus leading the Tigers on saturday's but I just can't see it happening. I think if he goes to the right place he might make it in college but not at the SEC level.

A situation that is partly due to lack of team talent and partly due to Hank making it worse. He junk the offense he has run for 30 plus years and won over 300 games with to go to the spread because of the talent of one player. he has done the players and program no favors by this. it has exposed a terrible defense to begin with and made it worse. The offense will 3 and out and put a bad defense back on the field.

You've said Finley won't even end up in D1. You're basically predicting a Zaddock Dinkleman type situation, except, Finley is already a junior is a solid 4* and has offers from nearly every major program in the SEC.

Sorry if we're skeptical of your ability to evaluate quarterbacks over really good college coaches and reciting services.

How is that Finley's fault?

I said it when he first got offered...he won’t play a down at LSU. If he even signs I can’t see him sticking. He is not a leader and doesn’t have the work ethic to get better. Yes, he is physically gifted, but mentality and attitude will be his downfall. Downvote if you want, but I have seen it firsthand since his freshman year. His teammates don’t even like him, but TJ really loves him some TJ.

Despite all of his talent and measurables, those that know him best from St Thomas Aquinas and Ponchy High all say this kid is not what LSU should be looking for. Not a knock on him as a person, but more about his lack of work ethic and competitiveness.
