But can't get an experienced QB until LSU officially knows what Nuss is going to do.

26 TDs to 12 ints. Similar to Nuss this season.
More mobile than Nuss for sure and had limited weapons at Duke. If Nuss enters the draft this would be a very good option. 6”5 235 frame too.

Maalik Murphy is more mobile than Nuss, I’m not saying Murphy is Lamar Jackson but he’s a lot quicker than Nuss and does use his legs More

shite like this is a reason why I see some of these other schools eventually just losing interest
You beat the odds and get a QB that makes you competitive…immediately enters the portal for a bigger pay day from one of the big boy schools. Why even try ?

Yeah. You'd think, especially at QB, if a guy finds a spot where he's playing and being developed that he'd look at the long term success that can bring rather than just hopping for a paycheck now. Kind of the same with Holstein at Pitt.

Yeah, Murphy isn’t mobile at all. He is purely a passer.
The Duke fans I know found him to be the least impressive part of the team (Rush defense, pass defense, Rush offense, pass offense). There were posts about how Grayson Loftis should be given a chance instead of just Murphy at all times as well (Loftis was okay as a freshman in 2023 after Riley Leonard went down).
I came away unimpressed with him from the standpoint of a larger team wanting him.
He is good enough for Duke, but if he is the QB next year at LSU, Tiger fans will be very disappointed.

Why are people so scared to have two starters compete. Sure we can win a lot with Nuss but it doesn't mean we should try to build the best roster possible if a player is willing to come battle. Doing this last year left us with Nuss and no one to push him to play smarter.

In 2024 (or 2025), no team will have two big name players competing for the QB position.
The only exception is a team with a senior and a big name true freshman.
Everyone else will seek to transfer out bc they can play the next year.

Let's look at actual game data:
Malik Murphy 19 rushes for -79 yards. -4.2 YPC with 2 TDs. His longest rush was 8 yards. Sacked 12 times so that is 7 actual rushes.
Garrett Nussmeier 33 rushes for -45. -1.4 YPC with 3 TDs. His longest rush was 14 yards. Sacked 22 times so that is 11 actual rushes.
But I'm sure Murphy looked much smoother and faster doing worse than Nuss rushing.
