Texas will be a problem if they get sec caliber players because of the resources .I just don't think Sarkisian is the right guy to lead them back to glory

It’s not if they are getting SEC caliber players, they already are.

That’s fine, but the talent he’s acquiring is gonna be hard to mess up.

Makes me wonder how big of a blow losing Pollian was for us. He sucked as a coach but was a very good recruiter and had tons of connections. Rebuilding all these ties is going to be an issue and usually takes about a year or so to sort out. Might explain why LSU is off to a slower start than normal. Winning this season will cure all though when people will want on the hype train.

THIS:

Regarding TX - They’re loading up on SEC caliber players. They were very close to beating bama last year as well. Some of y’all need to get out of this denial and realize that recruiting is the lifeblood of a program, and not competing for the top ones will haunt us if we don’t get it together

Texas last 10 years of recruiting ranking is equal to or better than ours
There team talent composite is better

Tell me who’s won more? And that’s with us playing in the Sec and them in Big 12

The perception that the Longhorns are this national powerhouse and blue blood is inherently false. They’ve won 4 national championships with 3 of them in the 60’s and 70’s (63,69, and 70). They won in 2005 as well. They talk with a lot of false bravado just like another school in Texas. Texas is back is a myth. They never were there to begin with.

They were close to beating LSU in 2019. What's your point?

Texas' best coach this century is still coaching at UNC. I don't worry about Sark at all.

I appreciate the sentiment but their outcomes beg to differ. Of the UTx fans I know, they have expressed similar thoughts and they cite Arkansas and Ta&m as their cautions...they appreciate the ruggedness of the SEC more than most SECers

Load up all they want but they had trouble placing in the weak arse big 12 conference, what you think will happen when they start facing SEC teams every week?

Not having to beat one a season. They have trouble with Arkansas and Missouri. When they’re 8-4 every season with some 6-6 records in between then we’ll see who wants to be at Texas!! It will take them a few years to adjust to this SEC schedule. They need all the help they can get. LSU will start to take those players very soon, when they find out that LSU has the staying power that Texas is trying to find.

Summed it up pretty damn accurately. Until Texas can find a true leader among men, they’ll flounder. Got downvoted for saying something along those lines, but wonder whom would disagree with this sentiment. Shame kids are also following the money to A&M as well, with their lack of development.

Definitely he's a player LSU would love to have, but he is very raw and has a lot to learn to be a top SEC player. He uses very little leverage and almost immediately stands up which allows OL to push him around. Physically, he has all the tools and if he can get some good DL coaching and learn how to stay low and use his legs and his big arse, he could definitely be a force in the SEC. Right now, he would get manhandled by a veteran SEC OL!

Seems like you’ve started coping already.

I remember Myles Garrett being manhandled by Collins as a freshmen. Not like he grew or learned anything

Texas is a fricking loser program. If anyone has a choice of LSU, Bama, Georgia, a single offer or a combination of, and still picks Texas, then good riddance. They suck and have sucked for the better part of 20 years

I wonder if something like a move to the strongest conference in the world, NIL and big money boosters could change something like that in this new era of college football?

I’m just simply stating that they are bringing in a massive amount of talent and a move to the SEC and a big commitment to NIL could change their outlook

People think it’s radio commentary bullshite but teams do need an identity. And Texas has an identity of being bitch made losers.

I agree with your logic.

Completely agree. Can’t stand Texas and their overinflated egos that’s truly undeserved. They’ve considerably underachieved/ disappointed. Just acquiring a lot of talent that may prove to be too good to frick it up
