Growing confidence from the Texas side on both of them. Pretty massive list they have for the final visit of June.

Losing a DT like that in our backyard would suck exponentially

Not a big deal if we lose them. Stars don't matter according to this board. We can easily replace them with 3 stars that our coaches identify right?

It's early but I am disappointed to see them have this type of bash and LSU not.

Maybe why this just came out

LSU coach Brian Kelly heightens push for federal NIL help

quote:

Kelly was among a contingent of SEC coaches and administrators who visited Washington, D.C., earlier this month to lobby for legislation to help rein in what has seemed at times like a free-for-all since the NCAA allowed athletes to profit from their name, image and likeness in 2021. Different states have imposed different NIL regulations, while the NCAA has largely steered clear of sweeping regulation.

"We needed to do something," Kelly said of the Washington visit. "There needed to be some publicity behind it. There needed to be at least an education at the committee level where they had more than just what California is trying to do."

Kelly questioned California's proposed bill, which would require profit sharing with athletes on revenue-producing teams, asking "Where's Title IX in all this? Where's Division II sports? Where's Division III sports?"

If every state is tailoring bills to their own self-interest rather than the health of college athletics as a whole, Kelly said, "That's not going to work."

So we’re essentially gonna take whatever scraps Texas/A&M/Bama/Georgia doesn’t want?

This is fricking absurd.

Serious question, has anyone here donated to the LSU collective? I don't know a single person in my social group that has even given $5, and it's a generally white collar group. It's the classic little man mentality Louisiana folk can sometimes have - "what will that make a difference." LSU's biggest difference is the collection of fans, see for example Omaha representation.

Have any of the recruits that have been known to be going to the highest bidder worked out?

Sounds like optimism on the Burnt Orange side. Money can only talk for so long, schools like this and A&M with disappointing results and development, recruits will see through it. Anticipate Mack and McKinley being cornerstones of this class for the Tigers along with Simmons.

Texas will meanwhile continue to plunge further into mediocrity before their descend into the middle tier of the SEC, in the coming years. Short term gain, can only take these kids but so far. LSU, Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, among others, provide it all. Texas, A&M, and Miami in that “other” category, will not. Frankly, don’t see Texas landing those Louisiana kids, but of course, we will see. Good insight, Crown.
