Watching him torch Denham Springs last year and in his highlight films, he reminds me a lot of Dalton Hilliard in high school. They're have similar running styles and size.

I played against Dalton in high school and I haven't seen too many backs with the "start-stop, change direction" ability that both he and Edwards-Helaire have.

I know the defensive players are a lot bigger and faster now than in the early 80's, but I'm still looking forward to watching this kid play at LSU.

Ray rice and Maurice Jones-Drew are good comparisons. He's a do it all back despite his short stature.

Remember he is short but only a junior. He could easily grow a few inches and will definitely put on 15lbs.

Not many people grow "a few inches" around 18 years old but it is possible I guess.

And when he runs slower than that in the NFL combine, did he lose speed in college?

he isnt growing and really doesnt need to add weight. I saw him as a Soph and he was super explosive. Saw him again this year and he clearly added weight. To me he was more impressive as a Soph but still looks to be a great RB. i dont think he has room to put on much more weight. He is thick in the lower body

Nope, it'll mean he just got bigger. However, I don't see anything that would even resemble 4.3 laser in his highlights. Running a 4.3 flat is cooking.

He does seem like he could run in the 4.4s though.

ETA:

I agree with Lester about him not needing to add weight. He already looks thick and compact and I wouldn't want him to lose any more speed. However, I think his junior highlights are insane though.

He's the type of RB I love to watch.

Way quicker and shiftier with elite vision. Clyde runs a legit laser 4.3

Not sure where you got that from but his 40 is listed in the mid-high 4.5 range. He doesnt have that top end speed really but still very good speed for a guy who is frankly huge as a high school junior at 5'7 190-195 or so.

To me CEH is Maurice Jones-Drew minus the elite top end speed (but still with very good speed).

I'm sure he could with proper training, which you would think he'd be ahead of the curve with his track background. I don't know about a 4.3 flat however, that's extremely rare. Donte ran a 4.47 laser at the opening.

Derrick Dillon who we redshirted ran a 4.41 at the same event

Edit: looking through the list from that year there are some strange numbers. Deontay anderson who ran a faster 200 than donte Jackson ran a 4.79 at the event, slower than Rashan Gary's 40 (Gary also ran faster than nick Brossette).

He's built like Maurice jones drew, but I just see Barry sanders with that jump cut.

He can do a lot of things Dunn could do
Can he take the pounding in the SEC will be the question but if used right he could flourish
