Did Meatball have the defensive line playing as well as Brady has the offense?

I mean, their contributions to the program are definitely similar. So, yeah.

I thought it was stupid at the time, and defended him, but Meatball was obliterated on this board for recruiting failures on the defensive line.

I've yet to see a single negative post about Brady and receiver losses.

Probably because our WR's were amazing on the field, we had a Biletnikoff award winner, and we still did get two top WR's this class.

He definitely has significantly more slack with recruiting with the on-field performance.

No, but Mickey Joseph should. Hopefully Frank Wilson replaces him

And despite the loss of Rakim and Burton today our WR depth is still stacked. It is the position of least need.

Arik Gilbert was never coming here without Brady and without us featuring moss, and he is the crown jewel of the class.

I don't think Brady deserved any criticism. I was just seeing if the hivemind was consistent.

I guess not.

That's not how recruiting works. Coaches are generally assigned to recruit players based off of geography. They may talk to the position coaches some, but they are mostly talking to their assigned coaches and then Coach O.

For example, Jarrett's primary recruiter was Mickey Joseph and secondary was Bill Busch. Burton's primary recruiter was Bill Busch.

Because he wasn’t Burton or Rakin’s primary recruiter.

LSU had arguably 3 5* guys at WR committed, a 5* receiving TE, and projected to get the best RB 5* in the country. It was too good to be true. That's historically filthy on offense.

You had to know regardless of what they said these guys want PT and more often than not, they'll allow someone to negative recruit for opportunity because rarely do historic classes like that happen for a reason.

Not really. It was more of a criticism of the idiot hivemind of this board.

I never thought Meatball deserved the criticism he got, and I don't think Brady deserves criticism now.

But this isn't an apples to apples comparison.

Brady has brought tangible positives to the program.

Meatball.....exists.

Meatball was an awful coach, so recruiting was what he needed to bring in Spades.

I think Brady's coaching leaves little to be justified in his praise.

It is from a pure recruiting standpoint. Of course position coaches don't recruit just their own positions, which was one of the reasons the Meatball criticism was silly.
