This is more confirmation that we are in crazy world. LSU must have a serious cache to do things like this for bench and practice depth.

We have way more money than people thought. We can go toe to toe with anyone - Texas, Oregon, Ohio State - doesn't matter.
Woody didn't want to spend it .
BK didn't want to go raise it .
Both of those have been changed.

What would you like to see nerd? "OMG!!! this portal class has to cost so much money!!! How much does our fearless leader Lane Kiffin have to spend at LSU???" effing idiot

Moscona framed it as we frontloaded NIL deals last year pre-revenue share to build up a $15m rev share cushion that could be rolled over each season for an indefinite benefit. Think of it like extra space over the salary cap that can be cashed in at any time.
His understanding is that we decided to cash in that benefit for this portal cycle and spend all $30 million of rev share cap space on this year's roster. I would guess this means we'll need more legit NIL deals for future rosters.

It has got to be $40-$50 million. Leavitt was what $5.5 mil and Seaton will be what $3.5 mil? If those numbers are accurate, those 2 along are $9 mil, and then you have the rest of the roster with several players reportedly over $1 mil.

Bottom line is. A yearly playoff contending LSU with a championship sprinkled in will return 10 fold in profit. Thats why you spend.

That 25-30 figure was to appease the snowflake governor. Don't want him worrying about our roster and Greenland at the same time!

Verge, if this is your TD account, you did a really bad job trying to be anonymous

I'm convinced you have no brain cells and can't think for yourself.
I'd tell you to ask yourself that question again until it was an obvious answer that seems itself is even too difficult for you.

Who cares what it cost?! You have to invest in good coaches and players to win. If it cost us 50 million in NIL and we win a NC, it’s worth it.

In the process, you've also shown ROI -- return on investment. That's what donors are going to want to see going forward. You can't spend it if you can't raise it, and you can't raise it if your donors don't see a return value in the investment. Example: Do you think Cody Campbell would keep pumping millions into Texas Tech's NIL each season if all he had to show for it was back-to-back Texas Bowl appearances?

Me...nothing and you?

I was always under the impression that Kiffin wanted to come here because rev share is 20.5 million and NIL is 20 to 30 million. Which makes more sense now hearing the number of 40 to 50 million being spent

It is the new base salary. Every player on the team makes at least that now. Even depth players.
