Williams and Emory have another year if they want it.

I don't think Emery does.

No one picks up blitzes or blocks downfield like Williams - no taking plays off, always gives 100%. And he looks genuinely happy when other RBs are making good plays too. We need more team players like him

I think we will if we can get the right guy assuming Diggs moves on.

If there is a good running back available to us like Etienne, then yes I would.

Diggs is a good back, he hasnt done enough to warrant being drafted.
Diggs is what he is. He isn't going to raise his stock any more than it is. He's a very good, steady rb who knows his assignments. He isn't a freak athlete who is waiting to break out.

I’ve heard Diggs is declaring, actually.

And this is the concern with a new QB. Running the ball is one thing. Picking up blitzes and blocking is an acquired skill. It's why I'm hoping to still have an experienced back as we bring along Jackson and Holly.

If Diggs declares (lol) and Williams doesn’t return there will be a small need for someone with some experience

Why wouldn’t he? As someone pointed out above, there is nothing Diggs is going to show that he hasn’t already shown. He is an NFL depth piece. The only reason he should stay is if LSU gives him NFL-like money.

Think Diggs will come back for two reasons. 1. He'll get lots of carries because Nuss doesn't run and will need him; 2. Our offensive line should be great next year with another year behind their belt playing together. Could add up to an exceptional year for him and therefore way better draft prospects next year.

Diggs - TBD
Williams - TBD
Jackson
Holly
Durham

I think if Diggs and/or Williams don’t return, we’d try to get 1 RB from the portal. If they both return, we’re set.

BTW, Diggs doesn't show up in any of the draft running back rankings. Emery ranks around 30 and Cain around 40. Crazy because the guy had a really good season for us.

With jd not being the primary rusher, whoever wins the job is in line for a nice season

You can say this about a ton of players every year. A totally baseless statement without any context.

Diggs is a late round- UDFA prospect. Playing another year at lsu may be more desirable than that path you would have to go down in order to make a roster in the nfl at RB.

Because he has eligibility left and no one would expect someone of his talent level to turn pro

Jackson and Holly will be the best one-two in the SEC. Not need to waste a spot on.

Doesn’t Diggs already have a degree from Notre Dame? Diggs is a very good student. Very few rb’s are taken high in the draft anymore and coming back next year probably doesn’t elevate his draft stock much. Considering he has a degree or is about to, I think he probably heads to the draft. Glad he gave us a year first though.

We're fricked if he doesn't. I was a little shocked at how the flow of our offense just disappeared when he got injured.

Jayden still did Jayden shite, but he had to work a whole hell of a lot harder.
