Budinger isn't a bad comparison, but Budinger has a low basketball IQ. A shorter Mike Dunleavy Junior is probably a more apt comparison.

I think the best thing is that he will probably be in the system for all 4 years. He should be a great college player when its all said and done.

Chase Budinger?
I am going a little old school here, but he reminds me a lot of Chris Mullin. He shoots really well and has really good court vision. A lefty and about the same size, Derenbecker is probably a little taller than Mullin was at the point in ther careers.

Budinger shot 40% from 3 last year, 48% overall.
and they list Derenbecker at 6'6" meaning at most Budinger has 1 inch on him.
and yeah, he's similar minus the athleticism, like i said
pat yourself on the back then.

Hopefully, he'll be the next Ricky Blanton/Don Redden at LSU.

This is a great pickup, especially considering Malcolm White becomes eligible at the same time.
The Tigers have the nucleus of a good team in 2010 with those two.

Budinger and him are both white. That's it.
Lord only knows how he got into this thread lol.
Let me guess, they both shoot three's:)
Did someone say Budinger without the athleticism??
lol What is that then?
Budinger is a world-class athlet though. On a global scale, he's a better volleyball player I've heard. He also won the HS dunk contest his senior year.
Derenbrecker and Ludwig will make the rest of the team better regarless of how much they contribute come game time (and that's not to say they won't be playing and exceling). I'm just referring to the brand of basketball being played on a daily basis in practice. It's time to find a couple of underachieving uber-athletes to mesh with em.

Scout is planning on putting him in their top 100 after his summer performances.
