Some bars close at 4 AM in BR. Although last call for alcohol is still at 2 AM. Some of them used to stay open all night, until the federal government threatened to withhold highway maintenance funds unless Louisiana changed it's drinking laws.

I love the Tide fans on TD. I think we got all the best Alabama fans here, and the Tide fan sites are populated by the shallow end of the gene pool.

:dude:
I honestly feel that this is more of an accounting issue than anything else. I find it difficult to believe that Alabama, for example, would make more money than LSU.

Alabama had a dismal season in most sports other than football. The basketball team was a disaster. The baseball team was so-so and plays in a small, antiquated ballpark.

LSU, by contrast is the defending SEC champions in two of the big three sports, nationals champions in baseball. Most LSU teams made it to postseason play, including all of the spring sports.

Top 10 football revenue schools

June 15, 2009 Cha-ching: Top 10 football revenue schools Street & Smith's SportsBusiness Journal unveiled the top ten football revenue schools for 2007-2008 and - not surprisingly - the list is dominated by schools in the South and Midwest... just as it has been every since we started blogging these results for 2003-2004. Top 10 Football Revenue Schools for 2007-2008 1. Texas $72.95 million 2. Georgia $67.05 million 3. Florida $66.1 million 4. Ohio State University $65.16 million 5. Notre Dame $59.77 million 6. Auburn $59.67 million 7. Michigan $57.46 million 8. Alabama $57.37 million 9. Penn State $53.76 million 10. Louisiana State University $52.68 million

NCAA fanblogs

And for all sports:

quote:

Texas was the overall top sports earner with $120.28 million generated from all athletic teams. Ohio State was second with $117.95 million and Florida was third with $106.03 million. Other Southern schools ranking in the top 20 in overall sports revenues were the University of Tennessee at ninth with $88.72 million and LSU at 12th with $84.18 million.

Someone explain why LSU isn't higher on those lists?

I know that very few schools make money on more than two sports. Most don't make money at all, and those that do only make it off of football.

LSU makes money on three sports, football, men's basketball, and baseball. And women's basketball at least breaks even, and softball isn't far off.

30, but Urbie definately took the foot off the pedal.

One, you don't know that for a fact. that's just your opinion.

Two, your offense was the most sorry excuse for an SEC offense I've seen in may years. Dead last in the SEC in time of possession, below offensive juggernauts like Vandy, Miss. St., and Auburn.

Three, any knowledgeable Vol fan knows UT's defense can be worn down because of the lack of depth on the DL.

Get off Chavis's arse. There's not a DC in CFB that could have done a better job than what he did, considering what he had to work with.

Someone else pointed out that LSU's defensive woes actually started in the last seven games of 2007.

And tOSU fans are on record as saying their 2007 team was inferior to their 2006 squad.

If you compare what UF's defense did to the Buckeyes vs. what Pelini's team accomplished, you'd see Florida held the Buckeyes to 14 while gave up 24 to an inferior tOSU squad.

You are 12 aren't you?

Im 33, and arguing with 12-14 yr olds.

You're mentally 12, and you're first clue should have been that you're arguing with everyone around you.

The Tide may go 6-6 with McElroy. There's more wrong with this year's Tide team than just the QB.

The secondary will get exposed this year. Repeatedly. There are far more teams in the conference in 2009 that can throw the ball than there was in 2008.

I'm guessing the reason the OP asks this question is that onside kicks are supposed to be a specialty of new LSU kicker Josh Jasper.

To answer, I would agree that surprise >>>> speed for success.

:dude:
If Miles offered Sadler then there is room. And I think it would take an offer for Ginsburgh to come here. Tiger fan or not, a full ride at tulane would be hard to pass up over a TOPs and walk on at LSU.

:geauxtigers:
Been preaching the message since the Big Three came back. I knew when Chavis was hired and Black, LaFell, and Scott returned for their senior season that this was a championship year.
