This kid is without a doubt the top player in the state, based on many factors, including offers. Anyone bitching about LSU landing the top player in the state needs a new hobby.

I think TJ is a great coach, but 10 years ago I
was very involved with aau and country day's team was pathetic.

they were everybody's blow out team.
I find it hard to beleave this kid is that good.

Glen Davis played at U-High as did Garrett and Collis Temple. That's a 2A school.

I saw big baby and Mr. Temple's AAU team in that age group, they were huge at 14 and under. I think that was the age group and were called sports academy.

How did Derenbecker do in AAU?

No way Derenbecker compares to Budinger. Chase unfortunately had 3 different coaches in 3 years so we never got to see what he could have done. Had Lute stayed, then Chase may have been an All American. He has that type of talent. He was the McDonalds All American game MVP along with Kevin Durant. Anyone who compares Derenbecker to Budinger is an idiot.

Correct. Atheletically Derenbecker is not in Budinger's league. Budinger could probably make the 2012 Olympic volleyball team. But, Derenbecker has a different more basketball specific skill set. He can run the point and really has great vision for a player his size. They are completely different players.

As I stated in a prior post, Derenbecker really reminds me of Chris Mullin. Is there any chance that Budinger will even sniff Mullin's jock? I have seen this kid play and know his family. He will be the real deal, potentially starting as a true freshman.
