That one was likely the dumbest penalty in the history of LSU football. Dude was all set to enroll early so Les in homed him and then retroactively got penalized for illegal contact. This was in those 2 years where kids could sign multiple agreements without giving other schools knowledge and then whichever school they showed up to was the binding one. The NCAA will always find a way to amaze with ineptitude

Matt Womack OT from MS who was in the 2015 signing class. This entire recruitment was Fk'd up because Womack was not 100% honest with LSU and Saban used it to ALA's advantage to screw LSU with recruiting violations.

Womack committed to LSU and signed his EE paperwork.
article from Nov.10, 2014 .... .... "Womack signed his financial aid agreement this summer with intentions to enroll early with the Tigers. While that grants the LSU coaches unlimited contact with him, it doesn’t lock him in to a spring enrollment."

Womack ... “After spending the weekend with the players and the coaches I figured out that this is where I want to be,” he said in a text to the newspaper. “It’s a great school and got along with everyone so much. While being down here I felt like I fit in perfect with everyone.”

Womack made his announcement on Twitter Nov. 9, 2014 10:23 a.m. “I’m an LSU Tiger! #GeauxTiger,” he wrote.

At the same time, he was visited by ALA (Napier and Cristobal) several times and took visits to ALA. Womack later changed his mind about being an EE, and he never told the LSU coaches who believed he was 100% committed.

On Feb 4, 2015, Womack signed with ALA. Kid played the LSU coaching staff because he didn't have enough maturity or "the balls" to call Les Miles and tell the truth. Saban knew exactly what he was doing by recruiting Womack and once he signed his LOI with ALA, LSU got reported for recruiting violations.
