Other than Priest Willis and Tavaan Goodman are there any other DBs we have a good shot at landing in this class? And how are we shaping up in 2014 on the DB front?

Rickey Jefferson and Will Likely and Maurice Smith and Rashard Robinson are the only other DB's i can think of we are recruiting. I think RJ will be a Tiger before it is all said and done.

Maurice Smith will end up at Bama from all indications from my Longhorn brethren.

Yea, I never thought we would get him,but I kno we have been in contact with him. I think we finish it off with RJ and Rashard(If he does good at our camp) and maybe a surprise between Priest and Goodman.

Regarding the OP the db class of 2014 has a high probability of being the highest ranked ever at LSU.
Laurence Jones of Neville is a potential 5 star as is Edward Paris, a former LA kid in Texas. Tony Brown and others in Texas have early offers. Texas is loaded at DB for next year. The 2014 recruiting class as a whole will be absurd.

Also, for 2014, Jabril Peppers may be a real possibility.

Were probly going to need to take more than expected due to the losses of Vinson and Jenkins, so ill go with Priest Willis, Tahaan Goodman, and Rickey Jefferson. That gives us 3 corners and 3 safeties

I don't think we need three safeties. We have a lot of safeties: Reid, Loston, Eugene, Martin, Gibson, Duplessis, and now Corey Thompson and possibly Jerquinick Sandolph after Moffitt gets a hold of him. In this class it'll be Jefferson and Cutrer and - assuming Reid leaves early - that will make 8 or 9 safeties on the roster in 2013.

That '14 haul would be ridiculous.

Xavier Woods was told by Raymond he'd receive an offer depending on his 40 time at LSU camp. Could be coach speak, but it was said.

In theory I agree with you but realistically, I don't.

Loston- until he proves he can be counted on, he can't be.
Eugene-legit
Martin-legit but may have to play some CB at least this year if Jenkins is gone
Reid-gone
Gibson-I think he'll transfer after this year if not before
Duplessis-ST only
Thompson-don't really know what we've got yet. I like him but I liked a lot of kids that didn't pan out
Sandolph-same as Thompson
Dwayne Thomas-I think he eventually ends up at S

This class
Cutrer
I can see 2 more but have no clue who

Jefferson is a CB or WR.

Remaining targets

Jefferson
Goodman
Willis
Robinson
Smith-never know what can happen. Many a lock have gone elsewhere
Woods
A plethora of kids from FL that we've offered
With the way the staff has been stealth lately, there's no telling who else is on the board.

lsufanva:

Speaking on the West Coast kids, we lead for Willis and Goodman (even though Goodman is somewhat of an enigma).

Personally I am not sold on Goodman. He did not grow up as a football fan-- he started playing in high school and has no knowledge of the cfb scene. I question if he has the drive to push himself at the collegiate level.

While he is an incredible athlete I do not know about the fire in his belly.

Mingo didn't play football until his junior year of high school.

How do we know this? Has some info come out that Micah Eugene did really well during the Spring?

Is there any concrete reason to doubt the fire in his belly?
