DB Prospects Who Do You Like?

I feel like with the success that LSU has had recently with the amazing secondary the staff should have the cream of the crop nation wide. I know losing Ron Cooper to Tampa Bay is a loss but still Corey Raymond will develop these players. So I ask who are your favorite prospects? If I missed any others please let me know.

Ill take Priest,Maurice,Tahaan, and Rashard and Rickey Jefferson and call it a day! But i dont think we get Maurice or Tahaan. But Priest and Rickey with Jeryl and Jeremy and Tre'Davious is as good as it gets.

I think Maurice ends up at Texas. But the Cali prospects are the most interesting to me.

willis and goodman at S for sure

I'm not the best at looking at film & evaulating talent, but I really like Priest Willis, Tahaan Goodman, and Vernon Hargreaves.
I know we don't really have a chance with Hargreaves, but I think we have a legit chance with Priest, especially if we land Goodman. He is said to be down between LSU & USC.

Would be sweet to pull a db from Cali and Florida

Can we include 2014 guys? If so, it is this guy and not many are close:
Edward Paris
This is a sophomore in high school

assuming we have 2 spots for oos kids.
1. willis and goodman
2. smith and robinson
but, does anyone know if jefferson is a db FOR SURE. if so, thats 4 spots taken with a lot of oos guys left.

Most think RJ is a DB,he even said a couple of times that he wants to play db in college. So who knows.

whatever the Jeffersons want, the Jeffersons get
Posted on 5/8/12 at 4:48 pm to Maximus
Do we really want RJ? It wouldn't bother me if he went to Alabama. Doesn't he hold an offer from USC as well?
Posted on 5/8/12 at 4:53 pm to Captain Crown
Why no love for Alexander? He looks amazing on film and is faster than most of those other guys.

In order
Willis-can play CB or S and is a beast. Best db in the country imo
Alexander-best pure cb in the country on film and that's what matters
Redfield-Just like his size and overall ability a little more than Goodman
Hargreaves-think he's overrated a bit but there's no doubting his cover skills
Goodman-not much difference between he and Redfield at S
Maurice Smith-versatility put over some others for me. He can play both Cb and S
Harris-I think he becomes a LB so that discounts him for me. Not a true centerfield type S
Robinson-give me a couple of months and he may be higher. Enormous potential
Benjamin-don't know why he's here as I and most others consider him a wr. Has talent though
Likely-All about size
Madison-only know about his listed offer which I don't believe is valid
Another offer out that would be pretty high is Artie Burns from FL. Probably has the highest ceiling of any kid on the list. World class hurdler and athlete.
As far as kids I think we have a legit chance at as of now
Willis-if we can convince him to not go to USC. Goodman will factor in here. Think we'll be in it for the long haul
Goodman-Think it's really possible that USC doesn't take him which could help with Willis. Make no mistake there will be no Willis without Goodman but Goodman is possible without Willis. Strange dynamic since it's truly Goodman's best friend commited to USC(Hawkins).
Likely-we could have him if we ant him most likely
Harris-he's deciding soon and we aren't a real factor. UF/FSU battle with Texas the longshot darkhorse
Smith-Looking like he will definitely not be a Longhorn as both sides appear to have moved on. Top 3 after taking them out is TAM, LSU and Bama. Bama may fill his spot before he's ready and honestly we may as well if we land who we want for the most part
Robinson-Loves us right now
Hargreaves-longshot at the moment
Alexander-speaks highly of us and nothing he does would suprise me
Redfield-Another USC lean according to most but regardless hard to see him leaving Pac 12 country
Benjamin-probably stays in FL with UF the favorite last I checked
Burns-likes us more than some FL schools will admit but I consider Miami the favorite. That's home for him. Stay tuned with him. Rollercoaster
We will not turn away Ricky Jefferson. Most think CB is his future but if we land some of these OOS kids then at least 1 if not 2 of Jefferson, White or Brazil will have to play a position other than CB. I like Jefferson the most of those guys at wr so I'd guess he'd be one but who knows. Either way it's very, very likely he's a Tiger come February whether people want him or not. It shouldn't be his talent in question. If he weren't hurt last year, he'd be much more highly regarded nationally. He's got Beckham like talent. Hate his brother and family all you want but the kid is very talented.

Great assessment. The only thing I might add is that Redfield will commit around the same time as Cravens does and has alluded that he will commit to the same school as Cravens. He has indicated as such, and Cravens has USC in a huge lead.
We will also be hearing about #17 ranked player LB Michael Hutchings, #18 ranked player, RB Ty Isaac,p; and the #48 ranked player, RB Justin Davis, very soon.
Could be a great summer if everything comes to fruition. We may only be able to take 18 kids this year, but this could be a monster class for us.
In regards to Willis, my gut is telling me he will commit to LSU. If we do indeed offer CB Tee Shepard a scholarship this week (he was ranked the #76 player last year, committed to Notre Dame, left, and has indicated he will go to USC if offered-- best CB prospect on the West Coast last year) we are going to start getting full. I believe we will take 2 FS, 2 SS, and 3 CBs in this class. We will have 1 CB slot left.

Thanks. Agree with your take on USC's class. For my money your guys 18 vs any other schools top 18 and USC's will be better. Going to be a loaded class for you guys.
Couldn't remember all the details about Redfield. I get so many names in my head and sometimes the info just jumbles together. I knew he was a USC lean though.
Thanks for the info on Shepard. I knew he was hoping for USC but hadn't heard anything in a few weeks.
What is your thought on Goodman? Do you guys take him?

I think we take one more FS, one more SS, and one more CB (that being if Cravens and Redfield commit). I think Goodman is a pretty solid lean to USC, but his decision is a long way off.
He is the most nebulous player on our board imo.
However with the lack of depth in our FS corps (thank god Josh Shaw came home from U of F) he will make a decision based on the opportunity for playing time. If not, look for us to possibly take a JUCO.

Anything new going on with the DB prospects? Any annoucement dates?
Posted on 5/17/12 at 4:41 pm to Captain Crown
Nothing new that I've heard. Most of the kids listed are planning to commit late in the cycle. Harris will be this summer sometime(likely UF) and Robinson could pop at any point in the summer to any school. Could be LSU,FSU or another school. Have a feeling he is going to jump at either FSU or LSU at camp this summer and it may come down to which he attends 1st. Also depends on if he gets a committable offer from either or both.
