Makes me think the kid wants to go to Bama... If you want to win championships NOW, who can blame him? I'm thinking the family is putting the press on. Even if he pulls the trigger for the good guys this one isn't over until signing day.

Isn’t that what Surtain’s thought process was a couple years ago and the excuse around here? How’d that turn out for him? No one is beating Clemson in this season that shouldn’t even count. They’re loaded with NFL talent like LSU was last year.

This year for LSU has been terrible. We all know that. But across every sport, players just don’t care. No one wants to play in this sham of a season. In ANY sport.

You have a new DC coming in and installing his defense on ZOOM calls with a severe lack of depth due to players allowed to opt out. How many of you would be good at YOUR job, short handed, if you got trained for three weeks through a laptop and then maybe a couple weeks hands on? How many mistakes would you make? How good at your job would you be?

LSU will be back. Before Sage Ryan’s last year in college, LSU will be playing for a NC spot and/or will win another NC. LSU fans are just so fricking short sided, all most of you know how to do is panic.

So would he leave his position at the school to join LSU? Everyone keep saying Trev is a Saban guy not an LSU guy.

Last I checked, he wouldn't be playing for Alabama this season and LSU has won a championship more recently than Alabama.

Nothing to do with "panic," at least for me. Bama is what it is. LSU is not that, right now, despite the championship. A few more wins vs. Bama and their claim of dominance over LSU will fade in the minds of recruits.

There's a lot of smoke about the work LSU has put on Sage the last few days, and I really hope it's all true, but I don't know what to think. I find it hard to believe that from the original story Bama basically talked him into announcing his commitment date, then just a little bit of pressure from LSU changed his mind?

That really makes me unsure.

You lean bama until you have reasons not to. Sounds like Ed and the LSU community are giving Sage reasons to pick LSU.

Since when do players choose their school relative to that school’s domination of LSU as of late?

It’s been years since Alabama won a national championship.

The staff should have been doing this until they landed a commitment. Same for Thomas Jr and Smith. If you have 5* talent in your backyard you work around the clock to secure commitments and get them on board. You don't let your guard down and allow a divisional rival to come in and out work your entire staff. Hopefully they regained ground and secure his commitment, but it doesn't change the fact that the LSU staff clearly botched the recruiting of Ryan (and likely Thomas Jr) over the last month.

Didn’t we get the good ones out of that crop tho?

I know the one kid that ended up at Miami was a headcase. I didn’t follow the rest.

Billy Embody was on Hanagriff's radio show the other day and said exactly that - the Alabama staff has been far more creative than LSU's staff in recruiting some of these kids, and that they have flat out outworked LSU's staff when it comes to Ryan's recruitment over the last month.
