Well there you have it.

Just popped the champagne and ordered my custom Robinson jersey.

It's not a matter of his talent, it's that he would have to get rid of a sure player, to make room for a guy who may never play.

wouldn't that describe everyone after Mitch? Wade can't afford to wait until *after he's cleared

No it would not. If you have an open scholarship then it is no risk to take him.

LSU would actually have to get rid of a player.

I tried telling TigerBait2008 last week that Cullota is full of crap, but he laughed at it. You still laughing over there Tigerbait2008?

True. But it helps teams that don't have a full roster, like Kansas.

We still have to weigh the APR effect if we push a kid out of the program because of the turnover that naturally comes with a coaching change. Is the marginal APR risk worth it for a kid that may never step on the court?

Very, very possibly. But we don't have those answers.

ETA: I don't know what kind of APR shape Jones left us in, but I assume it's not great.

My uninformed opinion is that Wade is wanting to wait to get a better read from the NCAA and that Robinson wants to hurry up and sign somewhere so he has a landing spot.

Without knowing any specifics of what happened at WKU, it seems to me that he will have a much better chance to get a waiver if he goes to LSU, because he can play the "needing to be closer to home" card. I think the Kansas thing might play out, but his main intention is to force LSU's hand to make a decision.

Obviously, this could be 100% wrong, but that's just my feel for it.

One shitty part of the process is that the waiver request cant happen until he's on campus somewhere. So, say the NCAA is feeling a little less than generous, we could get double fricked by pushing a kid out and hurting our APR and not even getting him eligible.

And then he leaves as soon as he's deemed not eligible and it gets worse.

Pardon the ignorance, but what decision is LSU forced to make? Seems like a no-brainer we want him if we can get him even for partial season, and would do what it takes.

That comment really didn't make much sense. He is probably just trying to give himself strong options with which to work.

The decision on LSU's part would be taking a chance that he will be eligible at all. If we take him we will either have to not take Bigby-williams or run someone else off. Wade might not be willing to do this if he thinks Robinson won't get a waiver.

Good point. I hadn't even thought of that. Maybe Wade can back channel and get an idea on the likelihood.
