Freak

Figured that is who you were referring to...lol. I don't know. Freak had a very very underachieving career at LSU all be he was named as a freshman All-American. How I have no idea. He had 12 tackles and 1 sack.

IMO Johnson was a huge bust so I guess, yeah Sophser could if he does sign end up down the same road.

No Freak was an absolute beast in high school. Was in very good shape.. hence the name. Played hard and fast and racked up stats. No comparison to Sospher.

Freak Johnson was a G.A.M. as a high school sophomore. His problem was he ceilinged out as a high school senior along with some off-field issues, but physically he was as good as a high school sophomore as he was as a college sophomore. Sopsher is a big kid, sloppy, who can show a burst of bright things to come, but needs the discipline of a college system badly and then its a question of whether he has the chest to work.

With a grand total of 16 tackles, but hey, he's still in the NFL making bank

Justin had a heck of game last night throwing for 7 TD’s.

He is 6’5” and 215, curious as to why he isn’t getting more recruiting buzz right now.

Too early to tell on Shelvin. Apparently he’s gotten it together, dropped some weight and is earning PT now.

Probably because he’s at Country Day. Anyone remember John White?

good friend of mine as I played at St. Martin's same time job played at CD (mid 80's). John threw for 8,000+ yds in 3 yrs which was huge numbers back in the day. He signed with Penn State and after several years came back home.

I know kids that play other sports with him. I am told that Justin is disgustingly talented, just doesn’t “want it”. He is just better than 99% of the kids he plays against in any sport.

Take this as you should....with a grain of salt.

Al Woods was a big disappointment at LSU when he came in highly rated, and later with the Saints. No fire in the belly.

From an article I caught, he might have another brother who is very athletic too. Maybe a 2 for 1 opportunity?

he had the city (and maybe the state) passing yards record for a long time. What happened at Penn State? I know he never ended up seeing the field. I've met him a few times and he's a very nice guy.

I can guarantee one thing- players who don't put in work at this level of football will be a bust. Doesn't matter their stars or measurables. No one is ready to be a star at LSU's level coming out of HS. Even LF7 had to put in alot of work.

So the question is when you see Sophsher, or someone who is mailing it in, is can you motivate them when they get here. Will the light bulb go off that the path to the NFL isn't as easy as all those hanger-ons have been telling him. And you know- there's no way to answer that question unless you really dig deep in talking to him. Even then it's a guess.

I've been saying for more than a year (when people actually thought he was an LSU lean) that the perception behind Sophsers commitment would be greater than his impact on the field. He's massively overrated.

I was impressed with Ibieta. Also, what classification is this? They are playing on a field with some removeable bleachers. Does CD have a stadium?
