It really pains me that too many posters believe they can mindlessly and ignorantly cut down prospects for no better reason than to get their rocks off by being smartass under the guise of "honesty."

People posting things like he’s been processed and he’s not good is not honesty.

It’s people talking out of their asses.

Smith is an all American, state 4A mvp, and is being recruited by two sec schools. He’s good.

If it turns out he visits MSU and commits to them, he was always looking around and was never 100% to the Tigers. Sure, we need OL but only the ones who want to be at LSU.....

What pains me is that all these "recruiting experts" give their "negative" comments/opinions about a committed player of an absolute team need and people like you don't think it can be/is damaging to the process.

Damaging comments are damaging! For him or anyone close to him to read comments from LSU fans saying anything but positive is damaging. He is a top player in MS and a top OL in country at needed position. He has been committed for a while and his tape shows you everything you need to know. I could care less about his offer list because he is on our board and MS State is trying to take him from us.

These are the types of guys that i wonder why LSU offers early. They could have waited till the end of the season to see how the season played out for him before offering. I mean if he leaves good luck to him.

The season must have played out pretty well since he was an MVP as an offensive lineman. Maybe they already knew how good he was. What’s the point in waiting until after his senior season to offer him? That’s only typically done with people who flew under the radar.

I usually judge how good a recruit can be based on his actual offer list because the major schools see the potential .No offense but there's not many on his list.

Maybe these are type of guys that come from a small town in Mississippi that nobody has ever heard of. LSU jumped on him early and he committed and has never wavered since March. The kid is a road grader and has done about as well for himself with post-season awards as he can.

He's playing in an All-American game, the kid is good. While sometime offer lists can be a good judge, other times they may not be. LSU secured his commitment a long while back, well before summer camps prior to senior season. He was also considered an MSU legacy, which a lot of schools sometimes dont waste their time on.

Take a look at his timeline, received offers right up until the point he committed to LSU back in March. He was likely telling any schools calling him he was interested at all.

Oh is that how you judge them? Were you of judges that determined he was the most valuable player as an offensive lineman?

Would suck to lose him but it's better than losing someone like Traore. Even though apparently he's taking a visit to Tennessee this weekend.

is this true??

What is your "observation" and judgment on Baskerville?

First off, nobody really knows of his actual offer list besides him and his family. How much has he camped? He comes from a small town in Northeast MS that isn't known as a hotbed for college recruiting.

Secondly, he has been committed since March and immediately did so after his offer. I'm sure other schools have focused their attention elsewhere. He may have been so sold on LSU and Grimes that he wasn't interested in talking to anyone else.

With our current head coaches previous offer lists he should be at Wisconsin white water, not LSU. What’s your point?
