Would suck to lose him but it's better than losing someone like Traore. Even though apparently he's taking a visit to Tennessee this weekend.

I think we will try to keep him. He's a natural C and a good one. They aren't common. Big need for this oline class. Hope we hang on to him.
We need him more than we need Pooka! This boards obsession with him and then disrespect to Smith shows the flash not substance mindset a lot of people have.

Would be a loss if it happens.

Timing of losing Grimes certainly could have been better from Tiger's perspective.

So you're cool with only signing three olinemen? After a season where everyone was screaming about how awful the depth was?

And you want another WR or DB to take his spot? Genius!!!

How is he going to visit this weekend while he is playing the Miss/Alabama all star game.

I guess 99% of power 5 teams haven't seen the tape either. We are competing against Tulane, ULL, USA, Southern Miss, Marshall, ULM, Troy, Miss St, Oregon. So how is it no other major program has found this gem? Is this game tape you speak of that hard to get?

Look it up urself you dipshit. I don’t give a damn what other programs are doing. I didn’t say he would start as a freshmen but he will be a good one. Great feet, great technique, great attitude. In a year or two he could be a good one. In the least he would provide quality depth.

He pulled out of the MS/AL game and is recovering from minor late season bumps and bruises.

Couple of prime examples of the worst of LSU fans in here.

Smith is a very good player. He will be missed by LSU and be a great steal for MSU should he flip.

It's not going to be easy bc this new coach may be a better coach and overall communicator.

If he wants what's best for his sons future, no way I would let that happen. He's at a premier school with premier coaches, and the new OL coach was probably an upgrade. If he were to leave it wouldn't hurt LSU, only the kid IMO. Go Tigers!

I can't for the life me understand the recruiting philosophy in this class. Depth is already an issue on our offensive line and the potential of losing 3 early to the draft and if we lose this guy we have 3 committed? That's not enough.

Can we LSU fans please not make negative statements about a current commitment? We have no idea what the staff’s view of Cole is other than they thought highly enough of him to give him an offer. For all we know, the staff is concerned with him flipping given the family ties to Staight and are trying like hell to hold onto him. In that case, negative comments by LSU fans about the kid online do not help.

It really pains me that people like you think honesty is "negative" If the kid has an offer, that's all that matters. Most kids take negative comments to fuel their fire to work even harder. The staff tells him what he needs to hear.
