Why do they rate these D-lineman so low? This kid has a legit offer list, and he’s not the only one. It’s seems defensive lineman are always rated on the low end excluding a handful of guys

It's interesting this guy's recruiting rating doesn't seem to match his offer list. He's a mid tier 3 star but offers from Arkansas, Florida, LSU, Miami, Mizzou, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, A&M, USC, Washington among some other lesser tier Power 5s.
Was he initially under recruiting, under rated and blew up along the way?

Looking the DT rankings as a whole nationally, it seems the evaluators are grading on a higher scale. Particularly the bigger, less athletic NT types. Not sure what it's about.

I watched some of his film and this is my "uneducated" take:
Positives
Low center of gravity, hard to move off the spot, able to shed and finish, good first punch to stand up OL
Negatives
Not explosive off the snap, not agile, short arms, doesn't possess a variety of rush moves
I could be completely off, but that's what stood out to me.

Glad we’re getting some big uglies on the D-Line finally.
Too bad we couldn’t work a miracle and bring some in for 2024 to save our defense. 2024 seems like it’s going to be such a missed opportunity. We’re going to have a good QB, a group of good TEs, and group of good WRs (Hopefully one or two becomes elite), and an absolutely elite and dominant offensive line. Our RB group could be great too if Kaleb Jackson breaks out like we think he will.
It could all be for nought though if our DL and LB play ends up being putrid

No will coach him up. That's three projections for DL to commit to LSU. In a few years, it'll be in the same position as the O line, because I believe Bo is every bit as good as Brad.

A small room with some unproven vets will definitely attract players that want to play now especially if that coach is the best at that position.
