He’s exactly what Aranda wants. But this kid isn’t just a space eater. He is very athletic for his size. He was dunking at 330lbs. That’s amazing!! He needs to shed some weight and when he does he can be dominant.

My only question is, "Is he better than the Rome, Ga kid we just lost?" It seems obvious that our coaches think so.

Well Griffin is an undersized DE. Livingston is a NT/DT. Livingston is a significantly higher 3* if that matters.

I think you might be thinking of Chasen Hines. He was originally committed as in Offensive Guard but switched to defensive tackle.

According to his coach he will be a great DT and has a higher ceiling on DL.

Yep. They're really not comparable at all.

As for Livingston's ranking...go down the list of DT rankings. There are only a few guys that are his size ranked higher. If 247 had a list for true NT, Livingston would likely be top 5 or 10.

I was hoping we didn't finish with him. We only have a few spots left and he's probably the one I would drop of the remaining prospects...

I've been reading for a few weeks now the staff were very interested in this kid. They obviously see something they like. I'll take their expertise over that of tRant scouting department.

You realize NT is a huge need, right? For 2018 there are only two on the roster: Big Ed and Shelvin. Hines and Livingston give the coaches much needed depth.

Honestly not knocking the kid but the limit amount of schollies left means we leave out someone else.
I trust the coaches but we won't get all the big names. Who do we pass on?

I know what you're saying, but I think you're going to see some shuffling with our current commits. I think this guy had a chance to be a monster for us.

These motherfrickers need to know these two things:
1) area of need being met
2) Bill Snyder, PJ Fleck and Bobby Petrino wanted this kid badly.

Trust in your coach on this position if in no other area. He knows DLine talent.

Those who criticize this commitment don't understand how a 3-4 defense operates. The most important position in a 3-4 defense is a nose tackle who can command double teams and sometimes triple teams. Obviously, Livingston is a guy who needs to be developed but what a damn good nose tackle prospect to develop.

Stephen1979, you sir, are spot on.
