The fact that Jackson and Arenas are even in the nfl is a tribute to how great Saban is at recruiting and developing db talent
I am a huge Texans fan, and when they were talking about drafting Kareem Jackson, I was like wtf?!?! I thought Arenas was the best DB on the team. Jackson was AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL last year, and this year he has made small improvement, but still has a long long way to go before living up to his draft position. Arenas hasn't done shite either.

Losing Collins is no big deal IMO. We are stacked at safety.

has anybody thought that the guy clearly hadn't made up his mind? had dug a hole way too deep to get out of by telling ESPN he would commit during the game? then not being able to admit that he really hasn't chosen anyone?

All of this has a way of working out. I'm bummed, but c-mon, if our current players are not a testament to player development, nothing is. Our coaches will score a recruit that will exceed expectations.

Collins may be the greatest football player God ever created but if he didn't hail from a town 30 miles from Baton Rouge, this would have been no big deal and no different then any other recruit that shunned us. Get over it. Sometimes we lose a kid in our own backyard. I'm sure Les did everything within his control to land Collins. Unfortunately, this had something to do with an issue far beyond his control.

Actually, that's not true. There was no inhome visit.
Now, yesterday I thought that may be because Les had a super-secret plan to spring an in home last minute just before national signing day to open the door for Landon to make hometown proud.
Then the announcement came.
Obviously there was no in home because Landon has a character issue that guarantees problems in LSU's system.
Only someone whose as narcissistic as he would shame his blood and home in such a way... and for what. sad shite right there
Les was right to stay away. Kids who put themselves before team, family, and deeper loyalties quit in such a competitive system as LSU's

As far as I'm concerned the last 2 5* safeties we signed , Chad Jones and Craig Loston never lived up to the hype. and we've been just fine without them

So in your opinion, Gunner Kiel should never show his face in Indiana again?

The in-home visit is scheduled for the 20th I believe.

Sorry Boys. Chad was a 5* and one of the top 15 players in the nation coming out of HS. People were comparing him to LaRon Landry and saying he would be a top-5 NFL draft choice too. He was only named 2nd Team All-SEC in 2009 along with a 2* DB from Kentucky (Trevard Lindley), a 3* from Auburn (Walter McFadden) and a 2* from Vanderbilt (Myron Lewis who was actually recruited as a WR and Patrick Peterson as a true freshman.

Bamas on our level if not higher with coaching and strength program. He only loses if he regrets his decision, which will prob only happen if things dont go well with the gf. This dude is going to be good, and hes gonna have pussy thrown at him on a whole nother level than a public school in LA.

Honestly, I can appreciate that he made the best decision for him. My only issue is with him saying he made up his mind 2 years ago and was never going to LSU. So, why string the coaches along? There are countless recruits who grew up in LA and dreamed to play for the tigers, but did to get recruited as hard due to the resources being spent on Landon. I can hear other coaches using Landon in their pitch. "You know Collins is the primary target and will get more playing time. Why risk it? Come to X and you are our priority". Just wished he would have been a man if his mind was made up and told coaches to look elsewhere.

The strength program....are you serious? Moffit is the best there is...period.

Yeah because the pussy at bammer is far better than LSU

Also if CLM and co. Beat $ abun again clearly the best HC will be living in Baton Rouge.
Sabun can clearly only even the debate should he win.

All of us who follow recruiting, whether seriously or not, have created a celebrity atmosphere with these guys. They are getting national attention at a much younger age without ever having to earn it or prove themselves.
Early commitments do not get one on one interviews with ESPN to make their announcements.

He will get piss poor DB coaching from Nick Saban
Oh sure. Saban is a terrible DB coach. Keep dreaming buddy. Its only why we're #1 against the pass and #1 against the rush this year. But hey, maybe our guys are just lucky.
At Bama he'll probably room with Hasean Clinton-Dix who was another 5* safety last year.

Oh for frick's sake.
Are you really this stupid?
I'm not even going to explain that. . .because if you can't already see it, you wouldn't understand the explanation.

That is all.

as this whole thing with Collins was playing out this week, I kept getting the same feeling I got with Janzen Jackson, that we were getting played. But, from what everyone on here said, Collins was different and had more character, so my mind was put at ease. But, as it got closer (especially the last 24 hours), I started to wonder about him. But, with all our recruiting experts saying he was coming and they were sure of it, I said that he's playing Alabama (which isn't any more right, by the way). But, then, he made his announcement and my first thought was wow, he just sold out his own state just to build up the drama of his announcement. Is that what he meant by representing the Boot at the game?
I don't have any problem with him picking Alabama--it's his right. No problem there. But to do it the way he did, that's just flat out wrong and I hope people don't hold it against his family. It was his choice. He may never regret choosing Alabama, but I would guess he would regret doing it the way he did it.
With all this said, it's now time for all Tiger fans to move past this and get focused on Monday night. We need to focus our positive thoughts and energy on beating Alabama and bringing yet another title home. Forget about this debacle and get ready for the culmination of the greatest seasons in LSU history
