Exactly. Think Miami and Florida State in the 90’s.

It has nothing to do with bandwagoning. The view of blacks within Louisiana of LSU in many places is that LSU only wants us to make money off us. As a black man who went to LSU, I have been repeatedly asked why I attended there by everyone from a high school teacher of my own who is an LSU alum to friends, family and people in just general conversation. Most black people just see LSU as a PWI who protects its own, eats up all the instate education funding and only cheers for blacks when we are trying to raise a trophy in LSU's name. Posters here speaking graciously on the same kids that considered LSU, then trash them when they exclude LSU. But some still come and then there is the conflict of interests, posters who cheer for LSUs black athletes on the Rant and then trash the race on the Poli board. A lot of Louisiana blacks think that's LSU, two faced. Cheer for black athletes, racist underneath. Not saying its all truth, but its the perception.
Bama just gets chosen cause they beat LSU at what they love most and they revel in it. Even though the same ideas are probably had by blacks in Alabama of Alabama.

So how do kids from as close as Baton Rouge go to Bama?
Heres the recruiting pitch:

- Every kid that has signed with Saban this millennium has won a national title. Alabama has been in every playoff ever.

- While Saban has been at Alabama they have produced more 1st rounders and NFL draft picks than any other school. This is the killer because they have 1st rounders at every position so they can point to the kids that they’ve developed. Who’s the last 1st round dlineman from LSU?

- It’s been 8 years. These recruits were 9 or 10 the last time they saw LSU beat Alabama.

- Alabama has better facilities all around.

Right now LSUs draw is home and family. Most of these kids see Bama as a business decision.

We arguably have as good or better everything you mentioned except 'better coaching'. Bama is not better categorically in many of those areas.

Three reasons;

They consistently play for and win SEC and National Championships,

ps - top athletes thrive on playing for titles

They get coached up and put many players in the NFL.

and last but certainly not least

They pay players they really want, and apparently they pay more than others.

That is tough to pass up for any player, put the elite players it is basically impossible

That’s why we need to stop recruiting black kids and start recruiting from Louisiana’s abundant Vietnamese population. Sure we may be tiny and slow, but we’d be crafty and we could approach it from a guerrilla warfare perspective. Maybe ambush them as they got off the team bus.

Dylan decided, not his father.

I like Ed. He doesn’t seem to feel the same way about me, but that’s okay.

Every kid is different.

Tillery loved Notre Dame, for instance.

Most kids here do love LSU, but every prospect has their own opinion on stuff.

LSU and our fans could work to reduce the racist perception. As a recent LSU graduate and HS football coach, I can tell you that a lot of people think LSU is not for Black people. My players are actually surprised when they find I went to LSU. There are tons of instances that we can point out but it all boils down to the perception of these young men. They see you cheering for the black athlete but there is almost no interaction before or after. No understanding of their world or their issues.

Secondly, Southern's people hate LSU. I have been trying to figure out why for many years. We need to fix that.

Also, kids these days join the winner instead of competing. We lost some kids to other schools until Ed O started coming around our HS. ESPN continuous cycle of Saban and Bama is nauseating but it's shiny and attractive to young impressionable kids.

Other parts of Tigerdroppings oozes blantant and over the top racism.

Lastly, we need some strong arse offers.

Until we beat Bama LSU will miss out on key guys annually. The last time we beat Bama these kids were in the 3rd or 4th grade.

Also it’s got a lot to do with front running. Not a black or white thing but kids that have no allegiance to a state university or any school for that matter via their family will latch onto the winner of their time.

We saw this with USC. Now it’s bama. Why are there so many Steelers fans nation wide? Because we people didn’t have a team to pull for in the 70’s they adopted the team on top.
Same with the patriots of the last 20 years

Fix what? A little brothers syndrome?

This is a completely bizarre fricking lie. ALL LSU athletes are treated like kings in BR! You dont know shite if you even insinuate differently.

This whole post is simoly a racist rant by you against LSU in some way, for some reason.

Sontellnus, what does bama do as a university to treat whatever race you are differently?

So no other program send players to the NFL... only bama?? If that's the case, then every school is only fielding crumbs from bama's table. Players not need bama to make it to the NFL. Does coaching help, damn right. But every player that steps on the field at LSU has a chance of making it to the NFL.
