Its pretty obvious that he wanted immediate playing time in case he is actually one and done. I don't think its personal, just business.

Don't bother, Rocket. . .

Idiots will still say Miles and Emmitt schemed to pull his scholly and rob him of his dream. . .

When stupidity and ignorance is repeated often enough, the truth becomes an annoyance.

NOW can we get off all the talk about Randle and Benton? He WANTS immediate playing time and to try to go pro ASAP.

Also, anyone know Bradshaw well enough to send this link to him and mend that bridge?

I don't get all the bitching by ppl. Its a win win for everyone involved. Benton will play right away which is what he wants. Plus LSU doesn't risk bringing a guy in who will be challenged to stay eligible anyway.

He didn't say that he committed on the visit to AU in the article, but it makes the alleged contentions that he did commit on that visit more likely.

Sounds like he is happy with his decision.

...and more power to him. Auburn's offense will eventually provide more opportunities for him to stand out. I don't blame him at all and I really think he feels remorse for switching, but it was the best for him. How can you blame a kid for that?

This is all good and I have nothing against Miles or Randle in this, but I do have a question: If Benton was going to Auburn, then why did he say he was going to LSU on Tuesday and why did Emmitt say what he said on the radio? None of that makes sense. If you want to go to Auburn then go. But, don't jerk everyone around.

Seven WR's had 20+ receptions last year at Tulsa. Demaris, a true freshman from Destrahan, led the team in receptions. Needless to say, Benton is going to get reps if he's able to pick up the offense quick enough.

I love Malzahn's offense.

The Benton/Randle explanation has been discussed ad nauseum.

I don't know why so and so said what they said.

It's the recruiting process and the recruiting process can be crazy. Things will be crazy next year, the year after that, and the year after that and so on.

This is Les Miles football...you never know what is going to happen.

In the meanwhile, I'm going to put on my apron and head to the kitchen and cook up some serious crow for some punkolas who decided to talk out of their arse.

Imagine that, Benton fails to mention that LSU pulled his schollie offer and that he had no choice in the matter.

Instead, he tries to argue that he chose AU. Shocking.

Not sure about the scheme part but there are 2 facts in this story that no one can logically ignore. First, RR's Dad said that he had a big problem with Benton getting an offer from LSU and stated that would affect RR's decision. Second, LSU pulled Benton's offer.

The rest is just posturing and speculation by folks trying to find comfort with the implications of the 2 facts that we do know.
