My biggest concern is for a top level QB. Can/will LSU go big $ for a national championship calibre QB?

I mean our incoming HS talent cbk has recruited isn't why we lost last night. Poor coaching and poor tackling on defense is why we lost.
Yall act like there's zero talent on this team and we only have 3* starting. The talent is there and the offense looks fine. Defense obviously needs to be fixed. Probably the worst coached defense since pelini during covid and I thought that would be bottom of the barrel.
It's on CBK because he is HC, but our defensive effort last night had very little to do with talent and most everything to do with absolute dog shite defensive coaching.
Not excusing the loss or CBK being held accountable. I just see this as a defensive coaching issue not a recruiting problem.

Yes, but I’d be a lot more forgiving of Kelly and his coaches if we were killing it in recruiting. Right now it feels like the present and the future are trending in the wrong direction.

I'm not saying don't be mad or don't blame Kelly. I am just saying I don't think a team full of 5* on defense would do much better with this coaching staff on defense.
On Defense we have recruited guys like
Womack
Toviano
Yates
Weeks
Howard
Jackson
Perkins
Wiggins
Welch
Brathwaite
Stamps
Stamps is the only 3* in that list. The problem is those guys are either true freshmen or sophomores. With that said, none of those 4* and 5* guys I listed matter or would have changed the game last night without sound defensive coaching, which is missing right now.
If we want to win a championship we can do it bringing in talent like that with how our offense is playing, we did it before. We just need better coaching to bring those players along.
Obviously this is a lackluster year for recruiting but we had a #5 and #7 class in Kelly's first two years. I'm just not hitting the panic button on recuiting...YET. if this trend continues into next year then I will be seriously concerned about the trajectory of the program overall. I am hitting the panic button on defensive coaching though.

Last year, Kelly's only full year of recruiting, we had 2 5* 16 4* and 8 3*
By comparison, since everyone is saying we lose all our elite talent to Texas, UT had 4 5* 14 4* and 7 3*. Additionally, every team in the top 10 not Bama, OSU, or UGA had at least 7 3*.
It's a similar scenario with 3* numbers this year thus far, and we have 8 of the top 10 in Louisiana. Last year Curtis and Arch were never coming here. We all know that. So if we remove those two from last year's LA class, we missed on Matthews, Williams, and Holstein. We could have definitely used those defensive guys last night but with how poorly coached the defense looks I don't know if it would have changed things or not. Not to mention we did land comparable talent like Toviano and they were of no help last night.
Acting like Kelly only gets 3* and all LA talent leaves for other teams is just factually wrong. I get we need more high end talent this year in this class, but any recruiting gap we have isn't what caused the result of the game last night.

Unlike his first portal class where Kelly hit on just about every transfer, he missed on every transfer in this years class except Diggs.
