We absolutely have seen it. He was on a first team All American trajectory here.

The guy has talent for days. From what I’ve heard from a Georgia guy, he’s full blown schizophrenic and his meds work for a few months and then he has to start over. That’s a tragedy. I hope this young man can figure it out and a have a healthy happy life whether football is involved or not

Should have at least waited another three weeks to get that second NC ring.

GT or Ga State would take him.
If he goes Ga State he could play @LSU next November

This. It was one thing to crack jokes after he left LSU, but it's very clear now that the guy is legit battling himself.

The concept of mental illness gets thrown around a lot by the younger generation and it's often bullshite. It's usually some mild anxiety, stress, self-doubt, etc.

Gilbert is fighting demons that are keeping him from functioning in the world.

From what I can see, Georgia and Kirby Smart handled him very carefully and in a positive manner - and good for them.

I don't know where he ends up, but I can't see him getting a more supportive situation.

I hope he gets his life together, regardless of football. People in his situation often get way worse with tragic endings.

The dude suffers from legit mental illness.

Does he though? I’m sorry but I just don’t believe that anymore. If he does suffer from a legit mental illness then he needs to put football aside and focus solely on getting better, instead of bouncing around from program to program (bc that isn’t helping). Young athletes today just throw mental illness out there every time something doesn’t go the way they want it to. And it’s an insult to people who do suffer from it. Being mentally weak isn’t a mental illness.

Poor kid needs to transfer portal out of college football. He’s got the physical attributes, but I don’t think he’s got the heart or the mind for the game. Needs to get his head straight and I wish him luck.

If he transfers to another D1 school, doesn’t he need to sit out a year?

I agree with your post. See mine just above yours. But Gilbert is legit. I know people who knew him at LSU and also the word around Georgia is that he has major issues.

This is not your normal entitled college kid.

Well then he needs to put football aside and focus on getting his life in order. And I hope that he does. But I agree with your post that he had a good supporting cast around him at UgA so why leave? Just seems it would Be very difficult (for anyone) to juggle getting mentally stable and bouncing around programs at the same time. Idk his family situation but if I’m his mother I would be urging him to give up football and stop forcing something that isn’t there. There’s plenty of other ways to be successful in life but he won’t be successful in anything unless he’s gets his mind right.

People without mental illness don't have a clue! Someday getting out of bed is more of an accomplishment than what a normal person does in a day!

If that’s the best thing for his mental health, then I hope he considers it. There’s no sense in wishing anything bad on him. I hope he figures it out and gets better.
