It could depend on the caliber of the QB. If the right guy hits the portal and wants to come to LSU, why would turn him down?

Perhaps a preferred walk on spot after the spring transfer period, but I'd be surprised about a scholarship spot. Too many other needs and we will be 3 scholarship players deep at that position next year anyway.

Nuss is not ready to be a starting SEC QB.
He just isn’t.
He has a live arm and a pretty ball, slightly better in both respects than Brandon Harris.
In time, he seems that he might have a much higher ceiling than Harris proved to have.
If Daniels is hurt, we will be weaker at QB than we have been in a good while…

Not likely this year but before next spring you can bet your arse. Then we can have all our boards continue to stay at normal insanity levels. The Nuss fanboys are gonna shite themselves. No way Kelly goes into next year with Nuss, Collins and Hurley only. Look what happened to Brennan. Nuss will get the same treatment. Maybe he suprises and wins out unlike Brennan.

I don't think so, unless it's a guy who would have at least 3 years of eligibility and was a slam dunk upgrade over Nuss.
Why risk spooking Hurly?

Kelly is about talent. If someone better than what he has wanted to be here, he'd take him in a second. That's the only way you prove to the team that you are doing everything you can to win.
That said, I don't see anyone out there that fits the bill right now.

No. Unless there's a major glaring need stop screwing up the pecking order and keeping younger guys off the field.

This, although this scenario is more likely for next year IMO. And I love Nuss but this is college football in 2023. If there is a QB out there at anytime and the HC thinks it will help his team win, they are going to take that QB. Promises and loyalty be damned. There is none any longer. Not from coaches and not players. It’s not a one way street.

Rather have 2 lbs and an OL

Probably should so the competition stays tight and no one gets complacent

To me the advantage that Nuss has over Daniels (and most challengers for that matter) is that in addition to having the physical tools he also has a tremendous resource in his father, a former NFL quarterback and a current NFL coach. Nuss appears to be pretty far along mentally considering his limited opportunities. He’s had turnovers but considering how little he’s actually played that’s to be expected. In no way does that mean he’s locked in as a turnover machine. It’s clear he’s been coached up and will continue to be so.
Daniels is a superb college QB, throws darts to the short and mid-range and is getting better. His legs may be the best of any starting college QB in the country. It’s a nice problem to have, and a two QB system is going to cause the Rant to short-circuit ??

Killers don’t think that way. If that ran off Hurly then he isn’t the guy you want playing qb

Howard Walker or Daniel Nussmeiers

Keep in mind if Daniels goes down Nuss would be the only QB with any experience, and his experience is very limited.
I don’t think this is unusual in the slightest.

Joe (Killer)Burrow says you are nuts. Where is the guy that forced Joe to leave Ohio St.? Sitting at home watching joe compete to try and make the Super Bowl two years in a row.

Sadly the guy who ran him off is Dwayne Haskins…
